Bismarck vs Nelson would have been a very interesting fight indeed, since those ships are so different from one another. Would probably have been a really close call.

All the Bismarck would have to do is RUN, Nelson was to slow to chase, but if Bismarck had wanted to slug it out , I think Nelson would have had the edge.

I think the Bismarck would have taken the Nelson apart. I read an analysis decades ago that after the Bismarck was sunk the damage to the Rodney from The Recoil of its own guns was significant to where the British felt they were lucky they got no hit from one of bismarck's shells

Nelson class were always having probs with their guns but 9 x 16 versus 8 x 15 was a decent stick to hit the Bismarch with. Plus the ability to maximise penetration by almost facing the enemy and minimising its own penetration was a plus on the Nelson class. (A bit like shaped armour.)

... after Bismarck was crippled by torpedo damage. Also, KGV and the cruisers also had a major hand in sinking her.

Whoever pllayed Nelson in this is a pratt. I beat Bismarck almost every time.
