I do feel sad that Tom, like many other title fight deserving fighters, has been made to wait too long, ask Tony. Tom is great, smart athletic & started mma as a child. But after saying this, he is a 31 year old man who is barely an interim champion. Jon was a champion at 23 & started mma at about 19! So, Tom will probably get to defeat Jon one day due to their current age difference and wear & tear of Jon’s almost double the number of professional fights. And these differences come with speed and power for Tom. So, because Tom will never be able to match Jon’s record, he will never be better than Jon legacy wise. So beating Jon means just that, that Jon’s time came. It doesn’t make him GREATER than Jon Jones. And no, I’m not even American to say that that is the reason I believe this. Jon’s fighting has been poetry in motion, & his creativity/malice has been unmatched. And then there’s Tom’s now healed knee. Ask Thiago Santos. He was never the same after Jon destroyed his knees. Still, I will be happy to have any of these great fighters like Jon, Tom or Pereira as a Champ!

Jon Jones fans need to get there head around the fact that tom aspinall is the future of the HW.....
@XBlack-oc6xt3 ай бұрын
well, I'm not a Jon fan, but I dont get your point? Of course Tom is the future, so what? GSP who is my all-time fav. was clearly burnt out at the end of his WW run and guys like Lawler and Woodley were the future and if GSP stuck around he would probably loose, a lot of people thought he lost to Hendricks, but all-time GSP is still the WW GOAT over them all including Usman. If Jon retires now, or after Stipe, or fights Tom, win or loose he's still the GOAT, his legacy is already set and it has nothing to do with Tom.

@@UNITDW I'm sure you don't think Chandler deserves to fight Connor either do you? For you, a mans word ain't a promise when it comes to fighting.
@UNITDW3 ай бұрын
@@alan8887 Chandler does deserve to fight Conor, because Conor is a big money fight, Chandler has lost to every great guy in the division and Conor isn’t the champion. It’s a completely different situation. Jon fighting Stipe isn’t just a fight, it’s giving him a title shot when there is an interim champ who has defended the belt and also almost cleaned out the division already. It’s literally just Jon and Gane left (and Gane has ducked Tom and refused 2 fight contracts given to him to fight Tom and Jon is clearly ducking Tom too). It’s not justifiable at all to give that title shot to a guy who is over the hill and hasn’t fought in years and lost his last fight by brutal KO.
