Alex is 37, the absolute best bet for him is to cement his legacy in LW and then move on to HW when he gets older. From watching MMA for over 15 years, there one thing that most if not every fighters seem to fail to understand is that whatever how strong you feel, how fast, how your fighting IQ has matured, one thing that ALWAYS catches olders fighters especially pure strikers relying on reflexes is... Their reaction time. They will diminish with age, we all saw that with Silva and even with Izzy in his last fight. Being that kind of elite counter striker relies so much on reflexes that as they diminishe, they will get caught by younger, not necessarily faster guys, but it comes a point when your reflexes are impacted enough that the same punch that you could avoid through reaction time 5 years ago you now can get caught by it because you lost maybe half a second of reaction time along the years. Plus there is also that thing (which is good in the first place) where you feel untoutchable because of all those years of dodging attacks and countering. Prime example is Silva vs Weidman, Anderson clearly felt like a god in there but got KOed by a basic combo. Pereira has a higher guard than Silva and is physically a freak so he could still pull that off but once again, I believe his best bet towards legendary status is to stay to the upper wheight classes.

I don't like Pereira dropping down again, the man is 37 years old and dropping all that weight is not good for longevity. Especially if he later wants to go up to heavyweight as well. He's already been champ at Middleweight anyway so he should just stay where he's healthy.

Alex is great and is arguably the biggest active fighter in the ufc at the moment he’s the go to guy for the ppv. This is why the ufc keep putting him in favourable matchups as most of there other champions don’t bring in big numbers.

I agree that's the same thing I said ,, Alex is 37 and he is 6 ' 4 he should stay at 205 and heavyweight that fits his body built a lot better,,going down wieght to 185 is a bad idea it puts him at a disadvantage and makes him weaker ..
