Sean can impose the same game plan with every opponent and they have no answer… he backs them up, they become unintentionally exhausted and he makes them fight while backing up. They don't look like they do much damage, because they don't, but it adds up over time. The judges just see it and go "eh". Then if someone like DDP lands big shots and the Judges like that. Specially if Sean starts bleeding. The reason he then ends up winning fights is because he pushes people back. But if someone stands their ground and trades with him. He doesn't look like he's doing much damage per strike. I guess my point is, Strickland keeps getting these "upset" judge calls - Cannonier, DDP and now the split decision with Costa. And it's because his style doesn't lend itself much to scoring. You don't get points for avoiding 30 shots a round and he hardly gets points for these technical but soft shots that add up. And that's something he'll need to fix.

The new UFC Gloves might take time for fighters to get used to. It might lead to an increase of Fights going to the Judges Scorecard. It was a very bad scorecard for Costa, it was a decent fight, in that it was competitive, but I don't feel it was close. I had it 5-0 for Strickland, I cannot fathom how anyone could give 4 rounds to Costa. I recognize that the judges may be unable to see everything depending on the position ringside which they are watching from, but the one who scored the fight for Costa must have been in a different building.

Costa IS a beast. There are only 2 people who have fought him and avoided a war: Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland. Izzy dominated Costa because he is just too slick and he was countering everything and then going aggressive in pockets when he read Costa right. Sean was not nearly as damaging... but he battered and controlled Costa for 5 rounds. I love Sean Strickland as a person, but, to be FAIR.. he doesn't have crazy power. What he has is EXTREMELY good distance management, cardio and toughness. I DO want to see him rematch DDP... whether DDP has the belt or not.

Khamzat got a decision vs Usman, it’d be BS if he gets a title shot before Strickland. Strickland has legit disarmed his opponents to the point of backpedaling the whole fight, and honestly DDP fight was a robbery. Give this man his title shot

Sean is just simply levels better than Costa. He was never in trouble and just picked him apart. It's not balls!!..it's technical ability, and Sean spars for endless hours with the best fighters in the world. Paulo is an easy puzzle to solve if you're just better at everything.
