I think Ngannou is gonna have a hard time landing anything genuinely damaging in power. Tyson will be able to see them coming a mile away. But all he has to do is let him in too close once and that could be a fatal mistake. Not to take anything away from Stipe but for a second before he got KOd, he made Ngannou stumble with a simple cross while he was backpedaling. Fury appears to punch faster and harder than Stipe. Also Fury has footwork and head movement that Stipe is far from comparing to. Anything can happen in a fight tho.

@@insertgenericusernamehere2402 At 6'7 Deontay is bigger than 6'4 Francis and hits harder than Francis but Francis appears to be more technical. Hard to compare the Fury v Deontay fights because each one was so different imo. Deontay had the most strategy in the trilogy but Fury looked like he put on too much weight and was noticeably slower. The first fight they had was after Fury had come out of retirement for some years so he may have had ring rust. A fight between Francis and Fury would be a hybrid fight as Francis explained in the ring during Fury's interview. I think it will be like the new hybrid sport triad combat. Fury knows how to clinch so it would make for an interesting fight depending what rules they come up with for this fight. Francis appears to not have much striking endurance and gets noticeably slower after 1 mma round. We'll just have to see how long the rounds will be and what rules will stay or be modified. Fury looked even faster in the Whyte fight so Francis may have trouble reading Fury's punches.

By adding the gloves it gives people some reason to say Francis could win, it adds jeopardy in the fight. If you just chuck Francis in there with the best boxer in the world in a full boxing set up then of course it’s a walk over. I think they should do it the way Khabib proposed for him vs Floyd. 11 rounds of boxing and then 1 round of MMA at the end... The chances Tyson and Francis Fight in an exhibition match is unlikely because you don't play boxing or mma especially if they are taking 4oz gloves. Also Tyson isn't Mayweather who had his last pro fight against a 0-0 boxer so that rules out a proper match under the Marquees of Queensbury rules. Tyson understands history and isn't going to fight Francis as the lineal hw champion. Maybe years from now if Francis is still relevant

If he really wants freedom why not insist on 1 or 2 fight contracts instead of a lengthy contract that would lock him into only competing under the ufc banner. Conor was a special case because of the numbers he brought in. Add up all Francis fights together and he couldn't out sell Conor. Fury isn't known as a great ppv star and neither is Francis. Too much risk of having the current ufc hw champion embarrassed and easily handled by the gypsy king. Top ppv buys for Francis 380,000, top for Tyson 320,000. Conor has gone over a 1 million 9 times and 4.3 million against Floyd. Its always about money they are "Prize" Fighters

Am I the only one getting bored of these MMA vs boxing fights? It only makes sense for the fighters because they’ll make a lot of money. It’s getting obvious every match that the boxer will obviously win in a boxing fight. If Jake Paul can knock out MMA fighters, Fury can obviously beat Ngannou. Just as Ngannou would destroy Fury in an MMA fight, it’s all a bit predictable.

I think this is a good choice for Francis as when you look at his career he’s lost only twice. Out wrestled by stipe and in that boring fight with Derrick where the both wouldn’t throw. And the rest of his fights end pretty early. He’s taken basically zero hard damage in his career. He can sacrifice a knockout to fury for that huge check

If you allow for kickboxing rules and/or a combination of mma/kickboxing, you can allow for elbow strikes, knees, and takedown attempts if dirty boxing doesn't prevail in a grappling situation. In this case they would reset and not allow for ground and pound, etc. 4 oz gloves would make sense in that type of ruleset as it would allow for proper in-fighting, which shorter stature and heavier opponents are able to take advantage of and mitigate damage due to being inside of the opponents blows. I'd say modified MMA rules with a cage, to allow Francis the chance to tie up and take him down, 6 oz mma gloves to allow for grip/grappling/takedowns, elbows allowed, nothing below the belt, reset on takedown, takedowns worth 0.

Tbh this is a valid and good breakdown of this potential fight, but I will say Francis is a freak of nature regarding power. While Tyson is the best heavyweight boxer to bless this earth technically, an unorthodox and random offensive move from ngannou like he’s done in several of his mma fights with 4oz gloves can cause devastating damage. Although having said that, if I had to put my money on someone the safer bet would be Tyson for sure. Looking forward to this fight!
