I don’t see how you could ban weight cutting. Only real thing you could do is weigh the fighters a couple hours before the fight, then they’d have no chance to re-nourish and hydrate their body. There must be a reason they don’t this, otherwise it’d be the obvious solution

The reason cutting weight compromises your chin is likely because the fluid capsules that surrounds and protects your brain from impact gets drained when you weight cut and it doesn't recover as quickly as water does to your muscles. So your brain physically has less padding to stop it from getting a concussion which is what a knockout is

But still, nothing like you have gone through! What I appreciate in your videos is the detail and the honesty about what it really takes to be a professional fighter. This is without a doubt one of the most easy to digest accounts of weight cuts. Told effectively and clearly. Makes the sacrifice you all go through horribly clear. Thank you, and congratulations on being as awesome out of the cage as you were inside it. #BritishIcon

Personally I would love to see 165 & 175. But in terms of the issue of weightcutting, I don't see it as making much difference. I see your point but some fighters who usually can make 170 might decide they can make 165 and cut a further 5 pounds rather than fight at 175. But yeah 15-20 pounds difference in weight classes is too big. Should just be 10 pounds

Have you ever thought that maybe 10 lbs for a 150 lbs man is very different to 10 lbs for a 195 lbs man? Y’all are foolish.
@kopxpert
@kopxpert 3 жыл бұрын
@@gervontadavisstan2850 Before u rudely call strangers u don't know "foolish", how about u read my comment again. I'm saying, no matter how many weightclasses there are, some fighters would still test their limits when it comes to weightcutting. U disagree with that?
@tafua_a
@tafua_a Жыл бұрын
Still, if you have less weight to lose in order to make weight, the process of cutting weight can be safer. Remember, several people either came close to death or outright died in the process. Not to mention, someone with a natural weight of 170 is gonna have more energy and closer to 100% to someone who pretty much killed themselves and stunted their training to make 170.
@kopxpert
@kopxpert Жыл бұрын
@@tafua_a U should be telling fighters that, not me, They will still be cutting a lot weight no matter what imo. My point is the addition of 165 and 175 won't be "solving" the issue of fighters cutting too much weight. Fighters who can make 185 easily will now consider cutting to 175

If I was ever competing professionally I think i would only cut 15lbs, as I would be more focused on actually training rather than going to hell every single fight just to be the bigger opponent. -Free to tell me if this is would be a good idea, or just to endure the weight cut and also trying to focus on the fight strategy

Not just he's a fellow Lancashire lad like myself, but because he's so down to earth despite being a world class fighter, I'd love to have a strong character like him. The world would be a lot happier place with more people like him and eubank instead of spineless critical cowards.
