The reason cutting weight compromises your chin is likely because the fluid capsules that surrounds and protects your brain from impact gets drained when you weight cut and it doesn't recover as quickly as water does to your muscles. Personally I would love to see 165 & 175. But in terms of the issue of weightcutting, I don't see it as making much difference. I see your point but some fighters who usually can make 170 might decide they can make 165 and cut a further 5 pounds rather than fight at 175. But yeah 15-20 pounds difference in weight classes is too big. Should just be 10 pounds

Still, if you have less weight to lose in order to make weight, the process of cutting weight can be safer. Remember, several people either came close to death or outright died in the process. Not to mention, someone with a natural weight of 170 is gonna have more energy and closer to 100% to someone who pretty much killed themselves and stunted their training to make 170.
@kopxpert Жыл бұрын
@@tafua_a U should be telling fighters that, not me, They will still be cutting a lot weight no matter what imo. My point is the addition of 165 and 175 won't be "solving" the issue of fighters cutting too much weight. Fighters who can make 185 easily will now consider cutting to 175

If I was a fighter….I’d def weigh in at 195 come fight week and be a middleweight….9 lb cut to 186….that’s plausible

Yeah the weight cut hurts to watch sometimes specially now a days when we get all the behind the scenes stuff i just hope they get compensated well or fight at the appropriate weaight class that works for them 240 for a light heavyweight holy shit lol

Michael this is one of the best things I ever heard. This is something Ufc and the rest of the fight game should do! It would be great for the fighter and the views

Look at guys like Whittaker and how much the middle weight move helped him. Also would be great as people wouldn’t just throw out the term Weight Bully as much

With this amount broad depth of knowledge and experience of MMA Michael would be a great coach or ambassador for new Bisping style gyms 👍

Damn Bisping is hard not to like. I remember UFC 100 was satisfying seeing Hendo knock him out but now I would be rooting for Bisping. Glad he is living in the USA now. I still think Hammel should have got the decision lol

I don't know why I like bisping so much. Not just he's a fellow Lancashire lad like myself, but because he's so down to earth despite being a world class fighter, I'd love to have a strong character like him. The world would be a lot happier place with more people like him and eubank instead of spineless critical cowards.
