À Notre-Dame, il y a une tradition que veut que le grand orgue alterne avec le chœur. Sauf que beaucoup ignoraient cette tradition et ont chanté les versets réservés au grand orgue... la preuve, c'est que le chœur ne chante pas ces versets, seule la foule a accompagné. La conclusion, c'est que la foule présente ne connaissait pas les traditions de Notre-Dame, mais par contre connaît très bien le Te Deum ! Et ça c'est une très bonne nouvelle !

@redletterchurch It is a problem. I'm Church of England yet the dramatic soundscape of the Catholic church specifically in France is appealing. I put it down to the dramatic sound of the Grand Organ roaring down the nave......

@redletterchurch I often think that while God and religion is very serious since its about the salvation of our souls, sometimes we take it too seriously. We, each of us, live in one place, time and lifetime. I as a human being can only be morally and spiritually responsible for myself and then try to pass on that responsibility in the form of serving my faith. But life is for living: we got to get out there and enjoy it. You'll be a long time dead, even if your in heaven!! ;-)

The organ is far too loud and is also quite unnecessary - gregorian chant is best sung unaccompanied. Having the text on the screen, however is very helpful and much appreciated...
