A song that is somewhat forgotten when people talk Metallica. They talk Sandman, Master of Puppets, Horsemen, One, etc. But when you listen to Nothing Else Matters, you are reminded to the power it has. Elton John said it best, it is one of the best songs ever written. It has everything.

Every time I hear James yell "Yeah!" It's like he's screaming in the faces of Life & Death and it gets me emotional. James will always be a god to me. A lot of people put Lars down, but there'd be no Metallica if it wasn't for him. He's also one of the drummers to bring double-bass drumming into the forefront.

Just discovered your channel tonight and I'm loving your reactions! Music is my escape, it's gotten me through many dark times, puts a smile on my face and sometimes even my heart! Love all different genres and how each one speaks to me and how I can feel each note of certain songs. Music is truly a language within itself. It's a joy watching you respond so raw to each song, having to go back and listen to certain parts over again, picking up on tiny nuances within the music. This is what music is about. It lifts our spirits, tells a story, gets our feet tapping and dancing, makes us cry, makes us laugh, makes us smile, gives us energy, quiets our souls, captures exactly what we feel. It makes us alive! Love your love of music! Have a lot of your reactions to catch up on 😃

its easy to understand this song, just easy as this: do what you want and believe in, and nothing else matters.

This song transcends its genre. One thing that I always loved about Metallica and specifically James Hetfield was his ability to play his guitar as sort of a back bone to the song. It always fits subtly and perfectly. His trademark rhythm guitar playing is the best part of this group, in my humble opinion. He is truly underrated in that regard. This song he was on lead guitar and that is a rare thing. When you deep dive into the discography, you'll need to listen to songs more then once to really get a feel for what he tries to do with his playing (Also to that part, he's really the lyrical genius and he has reached deep inside for a lot of the band's lyrics) I think his rhythm guitar shines the brightest during the 90s during black album, load, and reload. This is not to take away from Kirk. His solos are of course epic and that's where he shines. An example of hearing his rhythm guitar playing standing out is the song My Friend of Misery. You really should listen to every single song starting with the Album Kill Em All, all the way to the most recent Death Magnetic. Let each album be its own thing and don't try to compare one to another. This is almost roughly 35 years of music.

Recently hooked up to watching your reaction videos ngl its really enjoying and I really like how you tend to notice the subtleties in the music like the backing guitars and vocals etc..things other reactors usually overlook. You give a genuine reaction that's what I feel.👍

There is another beautiful version of this, " Nothing Else Matters( Elevator Version )" its James Hetfield singing playing acoustic guitar and symphony plays along, love your reactions, your name fits you cute, yes you´are cute. James Hetfield acturaly wrote it for himself NOT for Metallica but the other guys heard it and loved it. i remember James was nervous as it was a very personal song for him not meant to be on a Metallica album: Why did James Hetfield wrote Nothing Else Matters? “Nothing Else Matters” is a ballad about being honest with your feelings and expressing them. In a 2012 interview with The Village Voice, Hetfield spoke about the intention of the track, its meanings and how it came to be: “It was a song for myself in my room on tour when I was bumming out about being away from home.

I do not remember where I saw the interview, but in it James, the singer, was asked about the meaning behind the song and he said this song was a tribute to his wife, a love song if you will

I know there's plenty of elitists who hate this album but I love Metallica in every era, I was obsessed with the Black album for years 🔥❤️

I'm not really sure it's elitist. Gotta remember up to the point when Black came out Lars was very anti commercial about their music, then out comes possibly the biggest commercial breakthrough album for them. The fans that got Metallica to that point felt betrayed. So Black became a huge line in the sand between fans that were finally seeing videos of them and the older fans that knew only seeing them live in concert. Not saying either side was "right" but I think it may be safe to say Lars caused a good deal of the tension between old and new

My big brother is one of those elitists; music wasn't music unless it was LOUD and was meant to be played LOUD (insufferable idiot confusing Metal for any other genre, like there had never ever been any music at all ever before Metallica formed as a band or something. No kind of respect for ANYBODY or ANYTHING that came before...). He over-played all of Metallica's albums from before this one, overplayed so much that I HATED their music. I might have come to like them on my own at one point but he overdid it SO MUCH! Metallica, Black Sabbath, Ozzy when he went solo, Anthrax and Megadeth was pretty much ALL he played. He would make sure the neighbors complained. If I wanted peace and quiet to do my homework, I had to go somewhere outside of my house to do it (and yes, my brother is still that much of a dick to this day). This album came out, he quit listening and co-incidentally I started listening (at safe levels to avoid hearing loss). OMG, did he have a COW! He called them sellouts! But then was right back to listening when they returned to the sound he liked. Not only is he elitist, he's two-faced.

@@michaelchmiel166 The Black Album kept the band afloat. If they didn't make that album so the mainstream caught on to them, they would have gone broke. No more band, no more music. Get it yet, you absolute dunce?

I remember when this first came out and how angry and betrayed I felt. Now before I say any more, I'm now 57 years old, I'm a ride or die METALLICA FAN. It took me some years to appreciate the vast vision and scope of thier talent. Now I feel like such an idiot for being pissed when this masterpiece was released. \m/
