Honestly, the best part of the video is when Bisscute says “People will still find a reason to fight”. Her comment is more realistic and humane than the lyrics of the song, as well as showing how Bisscute knows how to give an honest opinion, i.e. saying what people need to hear and not what they want to hear. Well done, Bisscute!

This sounds like the studio recording. Many videos at that time were just live footage dubbed with studio recordings.

Back then I was a long haired Metal guy - no disco girls - Yet I was interested in Punk girls = Debbie Harry, with her hair styles and Punk pogo dance was just great.

That's interesting. Blondie also did the theme song ("Call Me") for a Richard Gere movie called "America Gigolo" where Gere played a high price Gigolo, before he played in Pretty Woman.

Home Free was invited to sing there version of American Pie when Don got his Holly wood Star ⭐️. Hope you check them out as well.

This is a great New Wave/Pop Punk song! I have come to appreciate Blondie more as I have gotten older as I was pretty young at the height of their popularity. Check out "Call Me" and "Rapture" when you get the chance. Fun reaction Biss!

Each generation has had its own version of the day the music died. Buddy Holly, Morrison-Joplin-Hendrix, Elvis, John Lennon, Kurt Cobain on and on.
@sydneycarton997353 минут бұрын
So many metaphors, there are articles on the song. ‘This’ll be the day that I die’, inspired by Buddy Holly’s that’ll be the day that I die, which was inspired by John Wayne’s catch phrase in the Searchers ‘That’ll be the day’. Helter Skelter- a song on the Beatles White Album, Charles Manson believed the Beatles were talking to him, then on the hottest day of 1969 (a summer swelter) his ‘family’ committed the murders at the home of Sharon Tate. (Which inspired Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood). Do you believe in Rock and Roll, Can music save your mortal stoul?

I was a freshman in High-school when this was released. It always hits my emotions. You did very well with the references for someone, unlike me , who didn’t grown up in the US in the '60s. Another song that covers events of those times was Billy Joel's "We didn't start the fire".

There are many interpretations to this song. I think it is about the huge cultural shift that occurred in the US during the sixties. How you interpret the song after that depends on how you feel about the shift.

Let me tell you a sad story. This song hit the market and everybody that was into any form of rock, or rock and roll absolutely loved it. Including me and I actually made an effort and was able to go to one of his concerts live. The story it tells was a great 1. The death of buddy, holly and others was only a little over 10 years old at the time. But sadly, back in those days before today's technology. We enjoyed our music almost a 100% from listening to radio. And this song was so popular and was on the charts for so long and was played constantly by DJ's. It actually wore itself out to the point where as of today. I even still turn it off when it comes on. Due to those d j's playing the heck out of it to the point where you went from, loving it to overload and not want to listen to It. Oh I still recognize the greatness of that is just one of those things that you can't seem to overcome once it's reached the stage of driving you batty. Anyway, I can say this, though that the concert I went to was great because it was well before that song had been played to death on the radio.
