Here's a tip, do like I do skip the cleaning tray, after you're done cleaning, pour a good amount of hot water on your laminate floor and suck that up. It washes everything right through into the dirty water container. It works really well.

Really useful tips for using the machine after personal experience. It is really helpful to know that 1 year on you are still very happy with it. Also really appreciate that you explained its real world limitations and showed how you clean the machine thoroughly as well - something often missed by other reviews. I actually pick mine up and set it on the counter next to the sink and use the sprayer to clean out the hose area on the cross wave instead of pushing a paper towel through it like you do. I do it every time I use the machine when I dump the water. Takes less than a minute and goes on the tray to dry.

The wheels are on the counter, the head is over the sink so the water runs through it and down the drain, if that makes sense.

I am on my 2nd Bissell hard floor cleaning product and love it! (1.) I use vinegar only to create my cleaning solution. (2.) Instead of using the sprayer on the unit, I use a plastic bottle to squirt my solution directly onto the floors, into edges and corners, and on dusty baseboards. (3.) I use shorter-bristled broom (upright broom and dustpan type) to sweep liberally applied solution away from corners, edges, and small spaces for suctioning, and to scrub tough areas and high-traffic grout as I go along. I have found it best to clean the main part of the floor first before doing baseboards, corners, and small, complex spaces so water from the main area doesn’t wash back into those areas. NOTE: I do use a solution from my own squirt bottle (mostly water and some vinegar) and must empty the dirty water chamber quite frequently. I prefer this over constantly squeezing the sprayer on the handle which can get tiring.

Going to check out your other videos, I’m older and health issues (temp), but at 61, I need all tips and devices! Always have same BISSELL. Have had 3 std poodles 14 years, then original poodle, 16 years before these! Lost oldest age 12 2,yrs ago suddenly fast cancer, I’m only child, no kids, so very attached. Then Oct 8, middle girl Katie became too sick. She’s only one of three 3 we got at 8 weeks ! Different bond. Plus she was funny, loved eating, last year she’d get on covered couch and start digging!! Lol, she was the catalyst of the 3! So still blessed with youngest Lucie,12, she’s got cancer (known for a year) but comes outta giant cage like a puppy. Decided heart condition needing pace maker, cardiologist wasn’t confident she’d make through surgery. Dynamics of our home has changed! Then look at Lucie, shy sensitive, feel blessed to have her. Just call me poodles lady! But look at her when doesn’t take treat, worrying if she’s getting sicker. Sorry for depressing info. Wanted you to know if I drop out, nothing personal!! Honey your born spokesman!! Hope you’ve got ideas on dusting!! Haha, never seen a home accumulate dust like this!! But been on walker part time, don’t remember last time dusted. Know man in grocery store produce dept had machine used for dusting!! Not that couple to 3 dogs lived here for years!! I’ll not go away, need your experience! I’ve forgot how to keep things clean! Only child, no kids, no excuse! Lol your great! Keep it up! OK? Kathy

My husband stopped getting his hair cut 7 years ago and also has a beard. The cheweenie sheds short hair 24/7, and parrot feathers add to the mess. 1. How badly tangled with long hair does the roller get? 2. I tried 3 times but am not sure - do you use it on laminate flooring? Has it caused ANY issues (if you have laminate)? 3. I am 67 with limited mobility and have to sit on a rolling stool to vacuum and mop when my hubby can't do it (he does so much already!). Do you think the angle of the handle would impair the cleaning ability? Thanks for your straight forward review. I like to hear reviews by people who have a history with a product and aren't paid for their opinion.❤

I cleaned houses for a living and after I'm done using the vacuummop through the whole house I always go out to the front dump whatever needs to be dumped out and then I use their hose to rinse the whole machine down not the actual electrical part, but I mean I take all the parts out then come out and I use pressure on each piece and then I put them in a separate carrying bucket so my reservoir is never sitting upside down and leaking and that also saves me on product if I don't want to rinse out the reservoir or waste cleaning solution that I've used, I rinse all the parts filters and all and then I place it in a garbage bag and tie it off at the top so that it doesn't leak inside my car. But I keep all of those things separated never together I do this because it's easier to dry them that way and I have a problem with getting the front plastic protection cover off I have to use a screwdriver sometimes so I make sure to separate it every single time I'm done with it. As for cleaning the brushes, Like all of my cleaning towels that I refuse to put in my own washing machine I take to the laundromat and I throw those brushes into the washing machine,(never the dryer) but the washer machine for sure! It gets so suckers really clean. I noticed that based on certain products that have sent to them it tends to be more soapy on the floor so I understand where you're coming from with that My biggest issue I have is with streaks it's like the vacuum head is filthy but it's brand new just been changed so that's why I watched your video was in hopes to understand how I could prevent that this is after I've already vacuumed the floor then went over it with like a Swiffer mop and then my vacuumop and the vacuumop is leaving dirt streaks behind and I'm confused because it shouldn't be that dirty of a floor but somehow even after all that it still is, any idea of why this happens?

When I am done, to clean mine, I lift it into the kitchen sink, remove the dirty water bin and rinse the machine under the kitchen faucet, allowing clean water to run thru and rinse any smudge in that hole and then flip over and rinse bottom. We live in the country, have hardwood floors and we wear shoes inside so we get a lot of dirt on our floors. 1 large lab, 4 cats and lots of in in out. I have had mine for 5 yrs now and it just died. ☹

Sometimes I just rub them over with my Lord Sheridan furniture polish which has a lovely herbal aromatic smell if I rub it on the rollers it removes all the gunk & leaves a lovely polished scent when I vacuum the hard floors! Kristin, great video!!! I have been thinking about buying one (you now have convinced me 😊) I have a question, I have both solid wood & laminate wood flooring. Can this mop be used on laminate? A lot say that you can use on laminates but when you get it home & read (“some” 😝) of the Instruction Manuel it says not for use on laminate flooring... (I too know the feeling, right now I use a broom, dust mop, vacuum & mop) thanks soooo much!!! 😊

I never knew this existed before you, it is a life saver (I have Lupus & it is difficult for me to do all the steps I had to before this crosswave) Thank you so much for reviewing it... you made my life easier! 😊 😽

luv this vid! i have the same model and also had mine for 18 months or so. about 3 months ago, it just stopped working properly -- would leave dirty water on the floor, etc. so i took it to the local bissell dealer (and note, i didn't buy it from them) and they sent it back to the factory and bissell replaced it with a brand new one! i was completely amazed -- who does that anymore?!!! so i'll say the thing i don't like about it is that it doesn't edge clean -- you can get about 2" from the baseboards or so -- i just run a wet towel along the stripe that didn't get mopped. and also, i can't seem to find anything that will clean the filters -- any tips on that?
@KristinKay3 жыл бұрын
I soak my filters in vinegar ans water but eventually just buy new ones off eBay every few months. Yes that happened to me too and they sent a new one.

Have you seen the new Bissell Crosswave Cordless & Cordless Max? I love my original Crosswave but the thought of cordless and self cleaning (on Max model) is very tempting, haha! Maybe one day but I'll stick with the original Crosswave for now. :)

@@KristinKay I think the only downside is the battery will only last about 25-30 minutes and you can't buy an extra one to swap it out. I've heard it also takes 4 hours to fully charge. For larger homes that might be a deal breaker? The max version isn't cheap either at $400 (the regular cordless is $300). I may wait to see if they come out with a 2nd generation cordless in a couple of years with possibly longer battery life and able to buy an additional battery. Other than that it looks like an amazing machine.

I don't mind cleaning it out I just use the muck room sink. What detergent can you use for the carpet instead of Bissell detergents?

I use Mr Clean with Febreze Meadows and Rain scent Multi-surface cleaner. I find it cleans better than the Bissell formula and leaves your house smelling nice.

I just bought Bissel CrossWave...I have 8 cats..no kids though, but I don't like dirty floors....so, I vacuum or sweep and mop every day. Our old house is about 3,000 sq ft. So, tired. So, thinking about this Bissel back and forth. Kind of questioning myself...need or want ? I love vacuum and steam mop. I have more than 2...so, I'm pretty suspicious..I just want it not I need it. Mainly, I have to use Bissel cleaner. Expensive for me...I love to use pine sol...Thanks to this video

You’ll love this. I use whatever type of cleaner I like. We have a dog and 2 cats and I don’t have to sweep first and then mop. It’s amazing I still have this

I'ver been looking at the mop/vac. Are you still using it or did you switch to another model? I have a Bissell steam mop and I really like it but I do have to vacuum before using it and would love something that could do both as long as it cleans just as good or better. I have mostly hardwood and a little Luxury Vinyl and tile. Thanks!

I still use this. I did end up purchasing the pet bissell crosswave last year but it’s honestly the exact same machine except for more money!

@@KristinKay Thanks! I had 40% off from kohls so I decided to order the Pet (purple) version. It was under $200. I have pets so wanted that version. So glad to hear you still love it! Any suggestions on to get the 1" area it misses along the baseboard/wall?

Can you use essential oils to clean if you have pets?

I vacuum everyday and I don't have kids or pets, just me and my wife and the water is always darky and no the floors aren't dirty it just the dirt from shedding mainly the clothes oh yeah and I have an air purifier too which alway shows 100% clean air. after the daily vacuum I do the whole house thing once week on top.

I thought it had a self-cleaning mode? But we still need to do this cleaning of nooks & crannies?
@KristinKay6 жыл бұрын
Yes it doesn’t have a hose of any type so it doesn’t get into cracks or corners
@KristinKay6 жыл бұрын
You can add water to the base it comes with and turn it on spin the brush but I honestly don’t think that does much at all.
@3squeeky Жыл бұрын
You can try to use essential oils that are disolveble in water. Maybe those won't leave any streaks

Does this work on rough tiles? In our kitchen we have stone tiles with a rough surface, i usually have to get on my hands and knees and scrub them as a normal mop doesn't work, it just drags fibers off the mop. So looking to try to make life easier and wondering if this machine will work. Thanks

Although the crosswave can be a big time saver, it's higher maintenance than any other cleaning tool. It's not hard to do a woopsie and get moisture into the vacuum motor. It will die a quick death if this happens, and it's a nightmare to open it up for repairs.

I’ve had mine for 3 years and so far so good. I suppose I’ll take those chances 😌

What proportion of essential oils do you use in your cleaning solution? Does it overcome the smell of vinegar?
@KristinKay4 жыл бұрын
It doesn’t take away the vinegar smell but it helps. I only add 3-5 drops if you add too much it makes a gross film and soap suds across the floor

@@KristinKay Thanks Kristin! I see different prices and models online (Pet-pro, cordless, Advanced, blah-balh...). What do you use and what does it cost? My objectives are: 1) vacuum and swab in one pass - hence halve the time spent 2) A minimum number of disposals/refills. How many sqft can you do without stopping?
