Happy new year Roger! I have a Bissell Spot Clean Pro, more expensive than this but wow wow wow, the absolute best. Brilliantly powerful and very effective. This may be smaller and cordless but I’d choose the Spot Clean instead every single time!

I have the older model of this, the first model, and it has a design flaw where if you do not hold it at a very specific angle, the water leaks out of the tank everywhere. All of them are like that and it was a common complaint. I wonder if this model has been improved to fix that.

Just some thoughts. You said the dirt/mud was dried into the carpet, would a stiff brush have helped to loosen it before wetting with solution? Also would your other Bissell Spot Cleaner done a better job?

I’ve got both a rug doctor and a portable rug doctor. It’s the portable one that’s my go to for dog/cat issues. Not sure any extractor works for set in stains

They should include a free rubber brush or scrub brush to help loosen stains since this does not have a manual agitator brush.

I have seen karcher sell a cordless spot cleaner probably is expensive though

I think the Bissell Little Green Machine does a better job, it also has a cordless version.

I love my little green machine, but it's finally sucked up too much dog fur and has a jam in it's deep workings somewhere so it's leaking😢 I don't think I can easily pull it apart enough to get the jam out
