The Bissell upright 2x series carpet cleaners are amazing. Surpassing the cleaning I thought you could get from a household upright. Tackling even impossible stains you would swear are hopeless. If you spray the stains a few times first and leave it a few hours so it loosens and reconstitutes it. The dual brushes and suction of the cleaner work like magic. The secret is in the emulsification of the stain substance and then suctioning it away with the foaming liquid.

This was an excellent review. I'd watched a few before this one, and yours was really the best. You explained everything very clearly and concisely and noted every technical detail such as making sure the unit is in standing mode before using the upholstery tool to protect carpet. Surely the best structured, most articulate and well planned demonstration I can recall seeing. Full credit to you. I have an earlier (say 10yrs old Bissell Pro Heat 2X) that works well for 10mins and then stops delivering the water, I have had it apart and cleaned so often I have lost count, it works for about 10 mins after clearing the jets and the delivery lines then clog again. = JUNK imo. Seems to me a poorly designed tool. I am keen to see if this tool new works well after repeated usage and what your maintenance routine is. Cheers

Question: Does this machine suck the detergent up when the trigger is engaged for dispensing?
@RussellPlatten3 жыл бұрын
The suction all takes place at the very tip of the vacuum head. You can see this in the demonstration (4:20 on the video). The solution outlet is above the two brushes and the solution is fed in between them. If you look at 1:31 on the video you can see the water outlet when I remove the first plastic cover (this is the suction assembly). The solution outlet is around 3" away from the suction. So when you are pushing the vacuum forwards, the solution is not being sucked up by the vacuum. When you are pulling it backwards it is. I hope I have explained that adequately Brooke. :-)
@susanroman47062 жыл бұрын
Nice review. I am in agreement that the regular upholstery tool is better than the 2 in 1 pet upholstery tool. I was hoping to actually see the spray and water extraction ability on the 2 in 1 in your video but couldn't. My 2 in 1 tool does not pull any pet hair into the collection bin although the rubber tips do collect it into a little pile. Very disappointed in the "special" tool. Spurts the water out and doesn't suction water up. Otherwise, I'm satisfied with the machine.

No issues with my carpets. I would imagine the problems people are experiencing are with carpet joints as the brushes are pretty aggressive. That is one of the reasons why it cleans so well. :-)
@Mike_Malloy3 жыл бұрын
I bought that same one. It didn't come with two of the attachments, only the pet one with the filter. I was cleaning upholstery and almost fried my power cable when it got caught under the cleaner. Apparently the brushes still spin while it's in the locked upright position so it tried to eat my power cable. Not good. It tore into it and exposed the green grounding wire.
@RussellPlatten3 жыл бұрын
I can't understand why they don't disengage the brushes when the handle is up. :-)
@Mike_Malloy3 жыл бұрын
@@RussellPlatten I contacted Bissell, they told me the brushes don't disengage in the upright position but have passed this incident along to their development team. I suspect for safety reasons they'll add it in future models. The brushes on my Shark dry vac do disengage when the handle is up so out of habit I assumed Bissell did too. If it tore into the 120vac line that would have been very bad.

A Good review here. I Just purchased one after watching this video. It will replace my rug doctor which blew up last week. From experience with the R’Doc I Wouldn’t worry about going too slow. Slower the better. I found The slower the pass the drier the carpet was left. The lounge is about 35Sq mtrs and took around 45 mins to do with 7/8 tanks of water. It also cleaned much better at a slow pace. Interested to see how the Bissell compares to the R’Doc, the R’Doc was very clumpy but worked well during ownership. Hopefully the bissell will be on par or better than it
