Thanks for taking the time to do this. We are so lucky to have KZbin available these days. I remember learning guitar when internet wasn’t around, writing out my own scales etc.

Thanks for the kind words and I'm glad you're working on this peice! Watch some videos on "Gypsy Picking" as that should help you a lot. The order is AABBACA...listen to the studio recording. The intro is just a 4 chord progression with a lick. It's Em-G (or Em/G)-Am/F#-B7 and the lick starts on the A string notes: B,C,B,A- (then E string) G,F#,E...Let me know if this helps...I have recieved a bunch of requests to do a video of the rhythm and chords...should I do one?

Great job again. Your videos, and getting the tabs from Barry really made this a lot easier. I still have a way to go on the speed issue, but, videos like yours and the helpful advice from others has really made my recent plunge into gypsy jazz worthwhile. But, I do seem to be really fixated on waltzes in E minor (MSG, Indifference, La Gitane, now Bistro Fada) Maybe I'll join a Jazz Manouche support/therapy group!

I really like your determination! I am not the one to help with technique as I am totally new to this style myself! Seach for videos by using the term La Pompe and or Gypsy Rhythm/strumming etc. And of course watch performance videos. Check out the Forum at DjangoBooks dutcom It's a great resource. Good luck!

Hey Brazil! Greetings from Washington, D.C. “Obamaland”! Your comment makes me feel really great, to know that in some small way I helped out even one person to play something that they love is so cool. It’s funny because a guy from Brazil inspired me to try to teach a song because he taught me Garota de Ipanema. Check him out…Daniel Imenes…great guy in Brazil.
