We study together perek 78 passuk 22 which speaks about what happens when we do not have Emunah and Bitachon in Hashem, and the proper approach to gaining back that Bitachon - by recognizing that the difficulties we face are a result of turning away from Hashem. The imperative is therefore to turn back to Him.

the way I see it, and as I understood from Rav Perr zt'l, we need to know about the different shitah's and understand the ideals. this does not mean we are going to live at those levels, but it gives us a chance to aim for something higher.

also I would add that the alter of Novardok did not want people getting weighed down with the issue of if they deserve Hashem's help or not, which is why he stressed that even someone who is a Rasha can have bitachon and get his needs met. I think it's a more useful approach.

@@AriGoldwag and if I may add that it's possible that both approaches are correct. However it could be based on where a person is holding. Which kind of makes it as they are saying the same thing.
