He's saying that based on historical data. Bitcoin historically (~15 years) has moved in tandem with the market, imo like a leveraged nasdaq. Gold historically is seen more as a hedge, not in tandem with the market, just look at the correlation between the market and gold. Just because bitcoin believers say it is a hedge doesn't mean it is a hedge. It's only a hedge when it ACTS like a hedge. That's not to say things will change and bitcoin one day does become a new hedging asset, but for now Soloway saying that is not bias or incorrect.
