I like to compare the energy use of bitcoin mining with the energy use of the police force. They basically have the same function, which is enforcing rules. Rules cannot be enforced without energy. How much energy is spend on enforcing them depends on how much people value the rules. One might even expand this towards military, which shows how much energy people are willing to spend on enforcing certain rules. The energy use for bitcoin is nothing in comparison to the police and military, especially when taking into account that it is a global network, in contrast to all the national policy and military.

It's odd that BTC enthusiasts don't talk about some of the problems with Bitcoin (BTC) Trump exposed BTC with a 🍔 The Lightning Network is off-chain, private and would need 133 MB BTC blocks to enable world transactions. LN nodes are also money transmitters and will be operated and controlled by large financial institutions, which is the complete opposite of Satoshi's Bitcoin White Paper Bitcoin Big Blockers BCH and BSV scale on-chain with fast, cheap P2P transactions on Layer 1

These people have not yet understood that there is an abundance of renewable energy that cannot be used because there are not enough lines to transport this energy to consumers. There is a project in Ecuador (Bitcoin Lago) with a major garbage problem. The garbage is now burned and the energy generated is used to run Bitcoin miners, and the mined Bitcoins are used to finance the entire village.

i like bitcoin and i do own bitcoin but if you buy now at the highs then only to watch it fall to the way side. you only buy it when everyone is saying it's dead again and we fall to the lows again, that's when you buy as much as you can but at the moment you will make the same mistake i did buying the highs last time. oh and don't touch alt coins they bite very hard when bitcoin falls because it happens very often.
