Hey Preston, thanks for the great interview/episode. I'd love to hear more about your thoughts (and the thoughts of a guest) on BTC vs ETH. There are obviously distinct differences between how each network was designed, but for me, I have a hard time deriving a value-based assessment on Etherium, and ETH based Tokens. As you or a guest had mentioned in a previous episode, the market for BTC views itself as a digital store of value. To me, it appears the market views ETH similarly, although its function/design is different. Could it be that BTC is the digital gold (store of value) and ETH becomes the digital silver (transaction medium)? I'd love to hear your thoughts in a future episode!

Ethereum is based on smart contracts and bitcoin a store of value, but in my opinion, ETH will eventually fail as I predict smart contracts will be done on the most secure blockchain which is bitcoin using RSK

@@logann001 Thanks for the reply! ETH is definitely cool with how it utilizes smart contracts. I think It'll stick around but the current function and value are not its "final form". With ETH 2.0 and proof of stake, it'll really change a lot, but I look at other tokens like Tezos and see "the future of ETH" already implemented in some ways.

Great Video at 47:00 Michael mentions, that interest rate do not longer give a boost to bond value as they are not going into negative, and secondly the cost of capital tripled. Can somebody explain to me, what it meant by cost of capital tripled? If interest rate are almost zero how does the cost of capital triples? or is he referring to the deflation of money, where we need to borrow more money to buy the same things?

@Cloudcrack Whats the cycle? Bitcoin is a buy and hold strategy. If you are a trader. Then yes it goes up and down. If you are buying and holding. It is marching up and up. This is a store of value investment. Not a day trading opportunity. Besides this there is almost no chance that it will go down radically in the next few years. It may go up and down short term but not the huge swings of a immature assets that it used to be.

Brilliant!!! One question though, why no mention of the Ripple network and the XRP token? This network can process thousands of transactions per second and is the replacement for the swift network as liquidity is readily Available.

If the banks get permission to be custodians, it's one step closer to governments printing money and directly storing value in bitcoin. That would be very interesting to see how it could change the debt landscape. It seems like the spot ETF approvals might have triggered a cascading effect for adoption in the coming years. Very possible the FOMO for this cycle is the institutional investments. Very interested to see how this plays out.

I have a question about BTC storage and safety for you pros... 1) if someone else finds my 24 word sees phrase can they not "steal" my BTC without even my knowledge? 1) Yes. The seed is THE most important thing in crypto. Never type it in your computer, email it to yourself, take a photo, etc. Just use paper and pen and never lose it. Hardware wallet can be lost but the thief doesn't know your pin. 2) Database is stored in "the blockchain." In decentralized nodes all over the world. What kind of risk? It is the biggest honeypot in the world for hackers for the past 10+ years and no one can hack it. Take a look at Nassim Taleb's book "Antifragile." Bitcoin is antifragile af.

@@DoJoe. well if you leave your bitcoin on an exchange like Binance, you take the risk of them being hacked, or of some regulator banning them from letting you access your bitcoin. The core principle of owning Bitcoin: Not your key, not your Bitcoin. So as soon as you feel like you understand how a hardware wallet works ,you should start withdrawing that Bitcoin; you could do it little by little: you start by withdrawing say 0.01 or 0.05 to your hardware wallet, you check that you manage to remember the pin code and seed, then you can withdraw more etc.

Really, I can not emphasize enough how dangerous it is, over the long run, to leave your Bitcoin on an exchange; but withdrawing them on your hardware wallet if you're not sure yet of how to properly set up and use one, is also daangerous. You should start familiarising yourself with hardware wallets by withdrawing small amounts, then larger ones etc. It took me a few weeks before I was comfortable enough to use them as my default way of owning Bitcoin. In any case, you should absolutely learn your seed (the 24 words) by heart, and note them on a sheet of paper (and NEVER in any electronic device like a phone or computer!!!) that you can hide in your house, so that no robber can find it.

I'm having a hard time trying to disprove Saylors reasoning when it comes to dealing with the melting iceberg problem. A classic mistake the investors in any Ponzi scheme is the wrong time of exit. Most investors after call maturity put their money back into the scheme including the profit. Buying back your Ponzi note get so expensive after, that there is not enough time to recover your investment before the Ponzi scheme collapse. We have one that works. No point getting on another. That’s like asking why dont we have the internet 2 or why dont we create English 2? No point, just iterate or build on the existing good model/ template. The miners wont stop at 21 million because they get paid in fees. It’s another job that rewards them with this scarce property that keeps going up in price. The entire point of BTC is to protect itself and reward participants. It’s quite beautiful. It’s like the sun. Its mere existence draws people to it and it gives value.
