The crypto space is becoming more adopted every day and its so exciting to see! I think you're right, BTC and ETH are going to be the winners here. Especially ETH - not many people realize that most alt coins run on the ETH network, they don't run on their own blockchain like BTC. Only issue I see with ETH is its expensive to actually use the network, for example just sending $200 of ETH costs around $4. They are working on decreasing this so hope this happens soon!

ETH will never succeed as an investment instrument because it's not hard money (the supply is variable) and it has a visible head (so it _will_ be corrupted eventually, it's only a matter of time). Finally, it's fatal flaw from that POV is that it's Turing-complete which makes it inherently susceptible to hacking. Because of all that no Big Money financial institution will ever touch it. There are many other technical problems with ETH: for example it's easy to mistype an ETH address into a wrong, but valid, address (about 1 in 400 chance). That _alone_ makes Big Money recoil in horror. I think this problem can be fixed but the fatal problem of Turing-completeness is unfixable. Basically ETH will succeed as a distributed computer but not as an investment instrument (it's only used as such today because amateurs have no clue and tend to be turned off by the high Bitcoin price). This means ETH will likely eventually take over certain businesses like Uber or AirBnb - not shabby at all. But if you want to invest - stay away from it.

To your point though, regulation of Crypto will be essential for global adoption - without regulation, it will never be fully adopted. As governments regulate it, and it begins to fully integrate into society, more business, and governments will trust in it as a security and that is when the real growth will happen. I like seeing regulations come in - it is a sign it is being recognised and taken seriously by the governments, and then it will only be a matter of time before it is fully integrated across the world.

They're just people, like you and I, trying to keep society together. Maybe in the US, the government is heading towards a more Chinese style authoritarian regime, but there are crypto friendly sentiments many places around the world. And if just a few places allow it or even embrace it, everyone entrepreneurial will flock there. It will be a brain drain on the authoritarian jurisdictions. Just get it through your skull: you can make it illegal, but never stop something decentralized. It's permissionless and uncensorable. Only sheep will follow a braindead law

I think although Bitcoin has just gone through another stage of hyped buying it still is good value as it will only carry on increasing as coins get harder to mine and as we get closer to all coins mined. I fell like Ethereum hasn’t gone through quite the same hyped buying as Bitcoin but definitely worth investing in, my investment ratio would be 50% Bitcoin, 40% Ethereum and 10% Altcoins like Litecoin etc
