Jeff is the man! You both win in that interview! Everytime, I listen to him, it sinks in more how entrenched in the old system our thinking really is!?? I hope leaders at the highest level are taking note. He just gave them the strategy to do this harmoniously and effectively! I'm seeing the light⚡️💥

Hey Grass hopper, you gotta understand these guys are theoretical, that's why people are so drawn to them, but the real world doesn't work like that.

Near the end, Jeff's comments on the geopolitical dynamic and the Fed's possible strategy regarding China's current financial desperation deserve wider consideration by macrostrategists. This was especially enlightening when preceded by Nik's previous interview with James Palmer. Thanks for a pair of great interviews, Nik!

After the last Satoshi is mined, what are the macroeconomic impacts of a slowly declining BTC supply? The purchasing power is entirely dependent upon demand. How does the system respond to external shocks? On a purely gold standard the supply and demand are relatively stable over time because of mining feedback. How do we achieve price stability in a hyperbitcoin world?

i would like to understand what happend to debt in a deflationary system
@INCREDHISTORY Жыл бұрын
The cost of capital would rise tremendously. Borrowers would be paying very high interest rates. Goods and services would become cheaper.
@JTland-sea-air Жыл бұрын
The macro point is, however in a truly deflationary/free market system, debt is unnecessary. See...you have to think in a completely different way. Stay at it...the switch will happen and you will be free!
@LEDit0ut5 ай бұрын
If money is worth less tomorrow it makes sense to borrow as that debt would shrink tomorrow. If money was worth more tomorrow the debt burden would also be greater. The free market would recognize that it makes sense to save to buy rather than borrow to buy.

I guess he's Outlook on Robotics and that the automated manufacturing processes will cause, prices only go down, is a very romanticized notion. The diagnosis is correct, but the individual does not benefit from it. The result will be, a few more even richer billionaires on the planet.
This is only true because of inflation in a debt based economy. If you disable the ability to fractionally lend money what he is saying would be true. You can disagree all you want but bitcoin is the proof. Everything falls in price when measured in bitcoin terms.
@TimmyPaco Жыл бұрын
Jeff's thesis forgets that innovations that are technology based brings new products and services and sometimes have nothing to do with procudtivy improvements alone and this fact contradicts his arguments that technology should necessarily be deflationary.
@LEDit0ut5 ай бұрын
You are ignoring the fact businesses are inherently competitive. If they can undercut the competition by 1 cent by improving supply chains and manufacturing techniques they would. And they do do this. The problem is we don’t see the benefits as the consumer because of inflation. This is also why nothing is built in the US. Because of the cantillon effect. 3rd world countries are furthest away from the money printing. That is why is it cheaper to manufacture over seas.
