I got mine yesterday, assembled it today, and it's fantastic! I'm getting the hang of it with my controller. I can't wait to start playing with the software too!

It's pretty durable actually. It's so light that if you manage to flip it or touch something with the rotors it's not really a disaster. There's extra rotors and a spare motor in the kit too. The worst that's happened to me is that the battery has come loose (it's taped on), and I've had to recalibrate my trim.

it has two weekness, one it has no cover, I mean all the internal parts are exposed, secondly it seems that the only way to operate the drone is through that handle which mus be connected to a pc, what about if I wanted to operate that drone in a park for example, and I had nothing with me but the drone ???

My problem with quads is telling the front from the rear. What will be awesome is if you can control it ike it were a dot in space. No orientation problems.

I hope you guys develop a TRIrotor with a servo on the back for yaw control. Much more agile, potentially less weight (and therefore more flying time). Also less noise, less rotor downwash. Think about it.

For sure no! A ton of hacks are possible, but if you can do some basic soldering and install the software, your ready to fly. If you have not flown RC helis or multi rotors I would recommend some RC sim time, then again as stable as the Crazyflie is, it's more than possible to learn to fly with, just keep the tail towards you when you start, as you lean to hover start adding yaw a bit at a time until you get a feel for the reverse of controls with nose in.

If you could attach sensors to it, it might be a great data gathered in areas that humans can't easily reach. Whilst being reasonably priced.

Hi, I don't think you understood the concept behind. Having a PC controlling is a big benefit, you can control the drone by your own software. Thats not for the people who want to consume, that for peaple who want to create. My first reaction was: Alter wie geil ist das denn! :)

You'd let it run autonomously on loaded code (it'll be back down in 7 minutes.) Or use your cellphone or tablet or a ShivaPlug or Raspberry Pi or something, and of course you'd use that cellphone waterproofing stuff to treat it to fly in fog or whatever without rusting (and hope any motor commutators are maskable -and- rustproof both;) heavy rain, snow, hail etc. are intentionally uncovered issues. It does need a lyric line as well as a backbeat and structural line (video BGM...) 'Handle'==wifi

That is a ton of kit for not much money. Add a solar cell for battery charging: Autonomous light hopper. Find light, land and recharge. Goto 10.

Of course; small perturbations dominate even this small a thing and moth or mote sensibilities would be better as you go smaller, plus the antenna gain necessarily goes down with size. If inside away from bugs and birds, sometimes a cat might opine on its edibility. Maybe you could make tougher (and less edible) hive drones for some favored honeybees?

Well, don't they do one with a magnetometer? Then all you need is for the controller to have a magnetometer in it, i can't remember if the ps3 controllers have a magnetometer in them but wiimotes do and they'll probably be able to handle the controls. But once the controller and quad know what their directions are relative to each other the rest would just be a bit of programming.

Combining all the hacks into one would be invaluable - if it could handle all the weight. An FPV microdrone with searchlight could be very helpful, even given a 3.5 minute flight time. Are the Hacks available? Is the controller / radio USB compatible with Raspberry Pi?
