It was the opening track in their second album, Oceanborn in 1998. Same album that has Sleeping Sun.

She's such a tease 😏 and has the entire crowd in the palm of her hand, something special from earlier songs is that there was more music than lyrics, and you have these long, beautiful parts in-between vocals

This is an old NW song, I think they added it to the setlist of this tour as the subject fits the last 2 albums of the band: the universe, earth, evolution and us. Tragedienne of heavens is the earth (as it is full of tragedies, evolution being the biggest non stop tragedy) Watching the eyes of the night (the stars) Sailing the virgin oceans (earth sailing through empty space) A Planetride for Mother and Child (earth and moon) Tuomas knows something about the history of astronomy: "Following the pages of Almagest" (Wikipedia :-) The Almagest is a 2nd-century Greek-language mathematical and astronomical treatise on the apparent motions of the stars and planetary paths, written by Claudius Ptolemy (c. AD 100 - c. 170). One of the most influential scientific texts in history.

A commentator on a different Nightwish video said that Stargazers and Sleeping Sun got added to the setlist as part of a deal between Floor and Tuomas. Floor wanted to do Sleeping Sun and Tuomas agreed to it if in return he could add Stargazers. Luckily for us they made the deal and we get to hear two great older Nightwish songs live sung by Floor!

This tour was 2015. Stargazers hadn't been played since before the split with Original lead singer ,Tarja Turunen, in 2005. Song is from the 2nd album, 1998's Oceanborn. 2nd lead singer, Anette Olzon, was more of a pop/rock style singer, operatic vocals weren't in her wheelhouse, so it was one of the songs that got put away. Floor can do them, and the song fit in with the Endless Forms Most Beautiful album themes of science and reason.

Funfact to know, Floor said it was off the setlist for 10 years, that was because Annette, the previous singer had not the voice to sing that high.

or maybe because Anette doesn't have a classical skills and high notes are not so very high in this version of this song (there is F5 the highest note, in the album version is G5 for example) and in the wishmaster there is too G5 and Nightwish played this with anette so if they wanted to play this song it could be played just with some changes of singing

It's one the singles of their 2nd album, originally sung by Tarja, who has that operatic style I remember it was one of the first songs I heard from them Here Floor covers it with a fairly similar tone

I love that keyboard patch. You will hear the theme in here pop up in snatches in a few other songs too. Here's an Emppu comment: "I'm always ecxcited about parts where there's room for improvisation - "Stargazers" for example, is a great live song that enables you to really shred." If you like this, you'll like Gethsemane from Buenos Aires 2018 (if you haven't watched it; I don't recall).
