"Maul only", when Arti has explosive prowess. Hell one time in chimney canopy I mauled Two King Vultures to death. No spears, no rocks, Just mauling (and of course parry stuns). Ironically I strongly prefer spearmaster over artificer, despite this.

It actually IS possible to defeat Scav King with only maul! It’s just very time consuming… If you feel up to it, I suggest that- if this is permitted- you first lodge all of the spears into walls so that Chief can’t use them. Then just…stun with rubble and maul repeatedly until he dies.

If you're talking about the one in garbage wastes nearby arti spawn you can use bombs to kill group of scavs at once (you can craft bombs by using food pips and rocks), also the toll isnt the only way, you can go right
