For the first time in 36 years of marriage, we are without a puppy in the house. We lost our last Shih Tzu just over a year ago, and I think it's about time. We are both in our early 60s, so we're contemplating perhaps rescuing a senior dog who has lost its owner. You are wonderful parents. Can't wait to watch little Dottie grow! From Iowa/USA

I have been bedridden for the past 9 years and my beloved dog Christian who was a poodle passed away August 22, 2023. You can imagine how much I miss him. I am starting to undergo several surgeries that will enable me to walk again. I've just recently had the first of four surgeries and am healing very well. Dottie is gorgeous but she also reminds me how challenging and rotten puppies can be. My next dog will definitely be an older rescue when the time comes. I am a poodle person so that will be the breed I will be going for. It may be a couple more years, but at least I know that it will happen one day!! Love your videos and will continue watching. Dottie's sharp teeth should start falling out when she's about four months old which should be very soon.

Puppies and adult dogs are a blessing I'm in my 64th year of my life and have never been without a dog in my life. I've an 11 year old and a 10 year old. But these to will be our last but we've got grand dogs. Dotty is so sweet and she has lovely parents.

Boy have I been where you are with little Dottie:) I and my sister both at the age of 75 decided to start puppy training my granddaughters Aussie doodle . Lol we took different shifts with her because we were so tired. She got the zoomies everyday, nipped and pulled on our clothes and at one point was ready to rehome her I think she knew because the next day she would be better. We crate trained her with the little stuffed heartbeat dog and turned on calming dog music. Now she is 2 years old and she is so much better and she is so smart. It does get better!!!

Dot is adorable. I have a Cavoodle...very similar to dot. The nipping is a teething response. The first year is hard work,but they tend to settle a bit after. Zoomies are normal for doggies.

Sleep is so important for puppies otherwise they become aggressive and through no fault of their own. Aslo she's teething and therefore in pain. Have you thought about getting her a harness rather than having the training lead around her neck? If that gets caught on something when she's having the zoomies it could hurt her throat. She's delightful and it's wonderful to you both taking such good care of her.

While Cavadoodle puppies need sleep, they also need daily walks and lots of playtime. The zoomies aren’t a negative - they’re an expression of happiness and burning energy.

Thanks Rob, Beverly and Dotty! We've been waiting for this instalment and it was smashing, very informative too with the brilliant idea of Doggy TV off of KZbin, we will definitely be getting good use out of that when we get our little Cavapoo at the end of the month! Loved watching the "zoomies" - when our little Bichon Frise used to do it we called it the Bichon Blitz! It seemed to be an evening thing too! I dont know if this may help with Dotty's nipping but we used to yelp in a high pitched voice when this occurred and either walk or turn away and it did work, but easier for us ladies to do than the men! Thank you once again for the video, we love watching the three of you on your Dotty journey- its magic! Averil and Ray x

Awwwww thanks for your message guys and I bet you are getting excited. I tell you what the Dog TV is like magic.....she is going nuts and then total calmness. We tried the high pitch and I can't do it without straining my voice. We must keep in touch and compare notes.

Why have you got the lead on her all the time, let her be a puppy she needs to run around and use up energy. I have 7 poodles and they have open beds and go to bed when ever they want to .
@gingerchipper3 ай бұрын
Why are the zoomies negative (according to your description). Dogs, cats, and horses all get the zoomies. Good lord let her be a happy puppy. Take off her leash and give her some breathing room for goodness sake. You are both annoying so bye 👋
