I got 86 in 10th and 85 in 12th sci, should i think of going for iim(ahemdabad, banglore)? I haven't completed my degree yet I'm in 1st year.. but i dont wanna waste my time in hard-working for cat if I'm not eligible for these elite iim's

Why is this comparison between engineers and non engineers on the basis of quantitative aptitude? Most of the questions are from arithmetic and geometry, simple algebra. Even 8 questions in quant fetches a person 95-96% in quant. Most people say that engineers do more calculations. Bhai sbse zyade toh bcom wale krte hain calculation. And for arts people their English is good. They don't even ask calculus,vector algebra,coordinate geometry etc. Kuch bhi chal rha. Diversity ke naam pe sundar ladkiyon ko le rhe sb college aur companies donon. Sbke sb mile hue hain koi bolta nahi.

Bhai bcom me one can use a physical calculator and the fact is non engineers suck at mathematics. Arithmetic is still manageable but geometry, modern maths, everything goes above our head. And if the quant was so manageable then we wouldnt have to see so less non engineers scoring a 99 percentile in quant. And dont forget many non engineers leave maths after class 10th only. I was good in mathematics until 10th (not the best) but had to leave maths bcoz maths and commerce combination wasn’t available even in a single school of my district. And to be honest i such at quants now😂 And this is a big problem for non engineers. Those who take commerce or arts struggle to get maths into combination in schools. I am talking about tier 2 and tier 3 cities.
