The focus with +4 Civs and Mils actually DOES give you extra slots, I just tested it. Game says I have a total of 8 extra slots across my different states. Also, if you are Partial Mob when doing the Mobilize the Economy focus you get War Eco, not sure if you knew that

To be fair, even the Turks called Istanbul Constantinople. The Turkish name is actually Constantinyye. "Istanbul" means something along the lines of "To the city" as the ottomans just started calling it "the city" and it was renamed during the early days of the Turkish Republic

There is some degree of deliberation to it. It's a "mean time to happen" of 650 days, at least for if you choose the path to restore the Venizelists to power. That means it's a *median* of 650 days for him to die; there's a 50% chance for him to die some time before 650 days and a 50% chance for him to die after 650 days. That may sound random, but a good way of thinking about it is there being a 50% chance he survives for longer than 650 days.

There's another tactic to defeat the turks, leave a few divisions on the frontline in thrace and then, with the rest of your army (at least 7 units mins) go to Chios and the eastern-aegean islands. from there, bee-line straight up to Izmit to cut off constantinople. If done correctly, you can take over constantinople without much of a fight and encircle the entirety of the turkish-thrace forces

3+ guide. And this is 5+ guid: - Venizelos needed max to May 37th. Only reason to keep him because of war support for partial mobilization from focuse. - Georgius don't needed. If you whant good adviser go 2 steps in Byzantine branch and take Ioannis Metaxas - Before you take Payback focus you can pay debp twice to England or France. No need to payback to Italy. You will take focus to remoove Shachtplan in end of 37. - Focuse tree: devolve>farmers>payback>autarky>(maybe mobilization)>fiscal>badrock. You need only 190-195 PP for improovments. Than you go to Byzantine branch and allwayse take democratic focuse before become fascist. - Italy gives mills to for total of 14. You need use improovment on Italy and Albania twice. Because they givese you mils only if relations 80, and if you dot't do improovment second time they will be 79-78. - Again. Why you crush monarchists??? 2 f*cking steps in Byzantine brunch, and you alied. - War MUST be done before 39. Because you take Bulgary and Romania and need normal peace treat without Germany. If you do all right you will have all Turkey, Bulgaria, Oltenia, Mutenia, Banat, Dobrogua, and pecefull border with your satelite (Romania) on north before war. And oil... very much oil.

I dont get how you break through the turkish lines before istanbul so easily. I legit just tried for multiple hours with differing methods and they have just soo many more troops stationed there. Doesnt matter how early, there are always at least 4-5 per tile, often more. They run against me and keep dying but nothing happens until i get dragged into ww2 and then its game over and another 2 hours wasted

I've done something like this before, and quite often you can swing it so that you join the Axis and declare war on Italy. I'm not sure if the timing lines up so that you can get all of the Balkans though.

That's a good question. I can't be sure right now, but I suspect that the focus functions based on tags, and only Yugoslavia/Serbia, tagged YUG, would provide the civs. Also, being a democracy and building relations with so many other non aligned Yugo puppet states would be absolutely horrific in terms of PP cost.

Would it not be possible and worthwhile in such a situation to take Gibraltar or the entirety of Iberia? That would give you control of the Strait of Gibraltar, combined with the Suez Canal it would vastly reduce the length of coastline you'd have to defend.

For anyone curious what the best Heavy Cruiser is, with an MIO that can buff armor, Armor 2-3, so you can’t be popped by light guns. If your admiral has the capital ship trait for negative AA, use secondary 2 in all slots that can take them, and heavy battery in any open slot. If he doesn’t have the negative AA trait, put DP secondaries and 2 heavy batteries and 2 aa guns. Your cost should be 5-6k ic and they will seal club light fleets and be very fast too. You can also research Carriers 2 and make converted hulls from cheap T1 lights and give them T2 carrier engines to speed up conversion and give yourself a means of dealing with enemy capitals, so long as you fly a few fighters to give you air cover against enemy planes. Best to use AP bombs and CV CAS because of the naval targeting over the torps, until you get torps 3.

Today, I tried to play german while historical Ai was off, (I know you hate it ;)) and spammed cavalary and then converted to normal infantry so i could do anschuluss in 1937. But that seems to broke the game and sudetenland got refused. Then i couldn't cap czech in time and whermacht couped me... I can send the save if you want to take a look.

Since the rework of MIOs, going for Bedrock of Balkan Financial Stability is even better because unless you deal with foreign monopolies, all your best MIOs will be foreign and will go away if you go to war with their country.
