I watched this movie 20 yrs ago and I wept the entire time because I related to her so much. I saw it on a Mexican channel, so I didn't see the intense sexual scenes, but I related to the simple story of a young girl who fell in love and then was thrown away by the one person she idolized. don't make idols of anyone--they'll prove to let you down.
@ritad7986 Жыл бұрын
Reading this after a breakup with a person I idolized:) and what an ugly breakup that was. All of his love gone in an instant, nothing but cold hostility as if I were nothing. I instantly remembered this film and came here to re-watch this moment. Damn I'll never let a male drive me to that point where she is. He won't get this pleasure. Although the legs scene maybe I should have repeated... Well-deserved, I say.

@@ritad7986 I gave all my love to the only man I ever wanted to marry. I had never loved a man the way I loved him. He wasn’t ready to marry, he said. I moved on. Then he met someone at work and married her, had two kids. She cheated on him. They divorced. He came to visit me. This is after 25 years. We enjoyed a fabulous time together as platonic friends. I visited him too and met his two sons. He still didn’t want me but that was ok with me because we had grown to two different people. But he wasn’t over his divorce and could not deal with his ex wife being engaged to the man she cheated on him with. One day, he hanged himself. His family let me know. I couldn’t attend his funeral because I was already in another country. His ex wife felt so guilty she even contacted me. He was my Bitter Moon.

It's been one of my favourite movies for years, but I'd never thought I could relate to her. And then, a couple of years ago I WAS her in that exact scene with pretty much the same conversation. Before it was unimaginable for me to humiliate myself that hard and it is unimaginable now, but somehow it happened. Amazing movie, dreadfully true.

this is so sad...just, only based on sexual attraction ,and passion....because she is so beauty...then he is bored, .....there was never any truly commitment.
@balddate31426 жыл бұрын
Then if we also look at the opposite side of the same coin, relationships: no sexual attraction and no passion .....where one or both of the individuals are being commited, each for their own reasons....that is a sure way for failure, a recipe for disaster... Relationships work when compatible individuals (in character, sexuality, values, mental health, etc) commit for common and right reasons, under the right conditions in a right social environment/culture and time...otherwise horrible disaster(s) can and will happen sooner or later....

She really loved him but a little space at times is important for a healthy relationship you can't sit infront of your lover 24 hours & never give a person more than they deserve she was very clingy & vengeful & making him paralized like that wasn't the solution but i just couldn't understand how after a long time not seeing her he stayed the same & never wanted her back & the worse is the way that he rejected her in a disgraceful way
