In recent years we are seeing that almost every car maker is making really safe cars, Today almost every car is scoring full marking in Euro NCAP, Global NCAP, and iihs. But things were not the same 10 years from now
Car makers were not focusing that much on passenger safety, but still, even at that there was one car brand that was primarily focused on saving Its Occupants and it was Volvo.

Volvo owner here and I'm sad to see you didn't talk about Volvo's overall reliability, practicality and luxury and I'd argue it's better than the German competition. In passive safety Volvo is still at the top, their crash tests on the SPA platform are much more rigorous than NCAP. However in active safety they can't compete with Tesla yet but they're in the second spot. Take the example of BMW X3 vs Audi Q5 vs Volvo XC60 vs Mercedes GLC 300. XC60 has way more standard set of features for safety, convenience and luxury, with the most legroom in the rear and overall boot space which are the most sought out features by SUV buyers. Their Bowers and Wilkins audio system is mind blowing, the experience is on par with an exotic bespoke luxury brand like a Bentley or Aston Martin. Indian consumers consider German brands as prestige and status symbols hence gravitate towards them instead of Volvo. They just don't get their minimalist Scandinavian living room style interior is a distinct luxury element. It'll be naïve to say Volvo buyers only buy them for their safety, rather it's their overall identity is what attracts them. My XC60 doesn't have a "Sports" or "Dynamic" driving mode, because it's a practical car, I drive my family around and I don't want to be edgy on the road. I'm not at all tired even after driving several hours. I always smile looking at another set of Thor's hammer DRLs on the road because I know they're also a practical bunch of people.

But u cannot prove safety. There is nothing 100% safe. It's a perception and emotional approach. We ca never accrately measure safety of a car. That's y highly safe Volvo internally tested for safety lost the lead over other brands which offered more than just safety. So yes no one is buying car only for safety...

It's no brainer for volvo to ditch ICE, when you remove ICE from the front of the car it gets way more crumble zone compared to ICE cars as well as the battery being so low to the ground gives extra ordinary low center of gravity for EVs which prevents roll over.

Bentley RR aside Xc90 is the safest suv in the world. Volvo is lot stronger than its premium German rivals. Almost all premium car get's 5 star in NCAP but you can watch videos of Volvo colliding with trucks and premium cars and surviving like a pro. Moreover, when it comes to braking, body roll and safety features, no car maker is better than Volvo.

you can't compare TATA WITH VOLVO. TATA can't make decent reliable cars, so they targeted safety over reliability. TATA can't make complete car on their own. Engine, transmisson, platform all are purchased or inherited from other brands.

I am of the opinion that this video content is rusty. Geely and Volvo is not doing well in terms of cooperative productivity. Do you know both Harrier & Safari are built on the OmegaArc platform, an essentially re-engineered version of the Jaguar Land Rover D8 platform adopted by models such as Range Rover Evoque, Discovery Sport and Jaguar E-Pace. You can check their safety ratings to get an idea how can Harrier and Safari perform.
