@pradeep809 it depends how you spend... I service after every 4-5 months. General service costs me around 2700-3000 rupees. I bring the engine oil by myself on discounted price. I don't put brembo sintered pads that costs 3200 rupees instead ceramics that costs 1200 only also I clean throttle body and change plugs in alternate services. It completely depends on how you spend it.

I just just 4 or 5 when KTM had announced its RC and DUKE series for the very first time in India and i still remember those funky, peppy orange machines. Woah those were the days , and those were the bikes back then the craze of the RC's were more than duke, RC's were not at all comfortable but it had a character fun to ride quality and i still wish to own one especially the BS3 ones no matter how much price i have pay as nothing beats the childhood dreams

I have Duke 200 2018 model my first own bike❤. What a machine. Exept some small maintenance job she never asked for a penny. She was idle for almost 1.5 year (just under bike cover in the rain) month back i took her out, my local machine did oil change and small work on her. And today just came from 500+ kms ride. She gives 35 kmpl ka milage and personally do her chain cleaning which is most important task some people neglect on open chain bikes . I never give her to anybody just me and brother uses. I care for her and she cares me back. Most people dont understand if they are riding at the speed of 60 kmph than the bike doesn't need 6th gear first understand these little basics before even touching these beautiful machines best wishes for KTM❤

Its the people who want to ride so that other people think they look cool that say these kind of things. Because if you observe, you'll find so, so many of them on access dio activa ntorq pulsar raider burgman sr160 apache xpulse, etc etc etc. But the people on those have never expected that others will look upto them for riding it, so when they see a chappri on one, they see the chappri. And if you said re 350 or cb 350 is chappri, fanboys will jump on you. When people see chappri on ktm on the other hand, they want to talk about ktm being chappri because getting a ktm for that much price will not make them look great in eyes of others. Ive seen them in a triumph 400 also lol, but ofc, nobody wants to talk about that.

Also the age group that are riding ktms are mostly from 18-23 (actually a lot of underage boys are also riding it) I don't disagree that there are mature riders riding ktm.

@shravan97 maybe that's true in your experience, but I easily see 5-6 out of 10 activa riders doing that. 5 out of 10 people on such a large population doing that, my point isn't that you shouldn't see the ktm and think something, my point is that if you can see ktm and think that, why don't you see the activa and also use the same pattern analysis? How are you blaming the company for poor mentality of the population that plagues this country? It's like saying antibiotics should be banned. Antibiotics have done nothing wrong, its the doctors giving them for the most basic of inconveniences that need to be questioned. Edit - ultimately what im saying is, today if you can say let's ban ktm, tomorrow it'll be some other company. Like that every company will get a bad image. The lowest common factor is the people with a crappy mentality right? This part of "Oh ktm is chappri, I don't want to do anything with ktm" isn't even a bandaid solution - it just discourages people who are at least decent riders from even trying it, and the chappri crowd is anyway brainless to think. It just infuses more of the latter and squeezes the good riders out. If people who have brains are profiling people without them, I don't think we change anything. Its a waste of time. Unfortunately, we all love wasting out time. Its always the best bike, the coolest looking bike, the one which can make the most exhaust note, the fastest bike. Its never about riding a motorcycle. And you know what? We're still way better than the car space online here, that crowd is easily more shallow by an exponent. Debt restructure hogi, after that, I believe, it would be a golden chance for Bajaj Auto to get full control over the company. Bajaj may transfer the whole KTM's R&D and Manufacturing to India if the other Partner group exits.

I am disappointed that you couldn't cover very important aspect or you left it willingly. Which is KTM has started sourcing parts from China instead of Austrian manufacturers to cut on cost resulting in major reliability issues which has turned off many European bikers & I feel reason is Bajaj. Both hero & Bajaj started using cheap parts when they parted from Honda & Kawasaki and stopped using those approved vendors.

If, as per the investigators findings, the error was of incorrecting demand forecasting, then those in charge should be terminated. Or perhaps, Bajaj wanted to acquire KTM at a throwaway price hence the deliberate measure. Only time will tell.

Middle class are not earning enough to purchase KTM or else people would have not let their sales go down. Still crores of youths loves to buy KTM 390, 720 etc but this system will never allow them to do good and fulfill their dreams. Companies want us to be cheap labour, Very sad we live in low income Country.😢

To me their biggest blunder was relying on CFMoto to make all their middleweight category engines which turned out to have parts made of cheese. This segment was supposed to drive volumes in advanced markets and turned out to be a failure primarily because of reliability issues.

The big problem that KTM has in front of it is, it doesn't have a flagship litre class sports bike. Heck it doesn't even have a reputable 650cc sports bike. All it has is those big twin cylinder engines. No v4 or online 4 engine road bikes
