Honestly I like the design of this blaster. Its kinda like an evolved version of the Aeon Pro that has a lot of the features everyone was modding into it with a much more compact and easy to mod frame.

Seems even more SPAMFy to me (same wheelhouse anyway). Remove the stock and foregrip, add the top slide, form factor seems quite similar and it's small enough to be a dedicated sidearm.

Ultra bambo half darts is the best innovation in the springer hobby since half darts were introduced. Their rigidity and smoothness allow the transfer of energy to be much more efficient than with softer foam darts. Obvuously, flywheelers work best with the softer darts.

Hi Captain, if you don’t already know the Unicorn’s barrel has a lower section in the outer diameter that prevents the bearings from actually contacting the slide. Assumed this is because the manufacturers didn’t want to scratch their shiny red barrels, but using a caliburn/talonclaw barrel should allow for an easier prime as its consistent in its od.

The barrel also comes glued into the dart gate making it a bit harder to swap out.

Either your chronograph is reading a little extra high, or you my friend have yourself a blessed unicorn! Even with the slotted plunger tube, you are getting consistently 10-15 fps higher than what other people got when doing their reviews. Good for you!

Monkee mods sells KYL darts, although shipping might be an issue from them. The orange headed ones looked like dragon darts to me. You also seem to have the low power plunger tube. I believe they have a version without the holes in it.

They do. Coop demonstrated it in his review. However there's very little incentive to do so as it sets the blaster WAY too high relative to your shoulder.

as soon as i saw the soda bottle stock i was thinking of ways to attach the stock attachment to a hopper fed rival blaster (or if rival is too big, i'd use a hyper blaster) for a fast reload system with a 2 liter soda bottle

Does the generic worker pcar barrel fit on the end of the barrel? I think the scar in question has 4 lines and is about 80mm long. Thanks in advance. Also I noticed your plunger tub has a slot in it and that’s causing some perforation inconsistencies. Out Of Darts sell a Unicorn without the slotted plunger tubes. Out Of Darts also provides an extended barrel and upgrade springs. Would like see a review on the Out Of Darts Unicorn and their upgrade stuff!

The only complaint I have so far with all the Unicorn reviews I see is that they're all based on the Asian market models that have the lower FPS slotted plunger tubes. I know constant content is king, but it just seems weird to review the version that does not match the one that will be hitting US outlets soon. Will you be revisiting the Unicorn with the US non-slotted tube? Will you take a look at the optional longer barrel and upgraded spring?

How did you use the worker jig thing to make bamboo darts? Do you just leave them in there for an amount of time? If so, how long? Or do you have to heat it like their website says? If so, how did you heat it?

I didn't. These were left at an event. I would follow the instructions on the website. Maybe experiment with different heat options until you find one that works. But heat is required.

IIRC, you use a hair dryer on high for 10 minutes. But there is a metal version that you dip into boiling water for a few seconds and let dry in the forms.

You put the dart into the metal tube, dunk it in the boiling water for, like, five seconds at most and then pull it out to drain and dry. And keep in mind, you are doing 100 in a batch, dunking one into the water at a time, not just a handful like with the plastic form

Hat I noticed was that your plunger tube was slotted, as I am aware the ones sold from biu blaster have that slot to comply with Chinese regulation, out of darts on the other hand does not require such slotting of the plunger tube and this does not have it. One of your lackings of the muzzle velocity might be from the slotted tube and this, you may want to aquire a non-slotted tube to check whether or not you were loosing power from that.

Styrofoam body darts are 30-50fps up over standard foam darts of the same weight. It's kind of ridiculous. So like a 300fps blaster with 1g standard foam darts could hit 340 with 1g Styrofoam darts.

The AF head Styrofoam darts should be similar weight to the max darts. Weight also doesn't seem to affect Styrofoam darts very much at all. People have tried them at .8g and at 1.2g and nothing much has changed. Just more energy is being put in the dart.

The new red and green dart zone x2 bamboos are .85g, so much lighter than usual, but .1g up on their 2nd get that was at .75. Their first Gen bamboos were .95g.

I feel like I've seen barely any attention paid to the Ultra style half darts. Have seen em available and mentioned here and there, but I haven't come across much testing or experience shared. All I really know about the Ultra material is that it's a firmer styrofoamy stuff. Is it perhaps due to no high quality options available (if so)? I dunno if any reputable sources have tried their hand at them.

@@radioactivesdesigns3554 Right, Right, makes sense. Just checked Zhenduo cause I know I've seen em on there. About $50AUD for 100 of em vs about $40 for 200 bamboo Workers (which are even more than regular ones sfar as I've seen). So in my money, that's 50c each vs 20c. So I get why people haven't taken the plunge to try them out, although if there are serious performance advantages, you'd think they'd be spreading more anyway. Everything the performance side of the hobby does is an expense for the goal of finding better and more efficient stuff. Some expensive blasters, kits and parts out there. Unless the durability is also big turn-off. I haven't bothered Ultraing at all so I dunno if they're the same, worse or better with use. At a guess I'd figure they might take punishment better in some ways, but worse in others. Seems the type of material that won't necessarily wear out in the same manner as foam, but perhaps lose bits in chunks instead. Or a hard enough knock splitting it entirely. Also only come in black that I've seen, so that's likely a turn-off for a lot. Intriguing though. Wonder if the situation will change at all. Costs coming down or they become popular enough for bulk orders to affect that.

Just my experience, but DZ Max darts are just... kind of crappy, in my experience. Inconsistent, lower FPS, worse accuracy, higher wear on the dart body from use, less stiff foam that most other darts, you name it. I think the fact that the Worker Gen 3+ darts solved the consistency issue proves out that the DZ Max darts were just not great, especially in this blaster. I generally try to steer people away from DZ Max darts where I can, especially because they cost more than AF Pros but are worse than AF Pros in every measurable way except visibility in flight.

Idk why my comments keep getting removed. I simply don't trust Biu-Blasters after finding out they are also run by Zhenduotoys and after they both sent me a non electric blaster despite advertising it as electric/full auto. They claim to have given me a refund but neither site did.
