Dan and I were on the way to a favourite spot, a beautiful ancient forest in the SE of England when we decided to leave the tents behind and to do a sub zero bivvy camp. We picked up a bivvy for me on the way and just went for it.
Testing out a new Mil-Tec Bivvy and Robens Campground 50, both bought for subzero winter camping. Spoiler alert: The bivvy was warm and dry but the condensation makes it a big problem and not something to recommend. The Robens Campground 50 was excellent, comfortable and warm, just big and heavy and comes in a stupid red bag.
Also lots of pyro fun, with coloured wildfire in the campfire and my homemade torch...plus some firelighting experiments....
All this and more :)
