I have a confession to make. When I was in Jr. High back in the 1990s, at the height of Beavis & Butthead's popularity, I vandalized my school. I went there at night with my cousin and wrote all over the walls by the gym with magic marker. and I mean ALL over it. Until the marker ran out. One of the things we wrote was "Beavis and Butthead made me do it" and "Cornhollio was here" The following Monday, the whole school had to meet in the auditorium for assembly about it. All Beavis and Butthead merchandise was banned from our school. I felt so bad. But, not bad enough to confess.

some of the early shorts/episodes showed them intentionally sniffing paint thinner or model glue. The idea of them having brain damage due to substance abuse was supposed to be why they were the way that they were for the most part. This was pretty controversial because it showed them doing it directly instead of just implying it like most shows would have to do today. A lot of those episodes were removed from circulation but some are available on dvd and I've seen a few of them uploaded lately.

I think they're both gods, actually. The proof is in the movie Beavis and Butthead Do America. There's no way human beings could have done half of what they did. Starting with surviving in the desert in a pinch that would have turned any regular human being into beef jerky. They have impossibly resilient and have supernatural luck/plot armor powers. But anyway, here's my SERIOUS theory: They're actually not stupid at all. They're actually the smartest people on the show. The only reason they seem stupid is because their priorities are different and they are ignorant about basic facts about the world simply due to indifference, not lack of intelligence. Think about this now. Every time they have an episode where they encounter some element of the rest of the world, they encounter people dumber than them by any measure. For instance, they wander to some place where they are mistaken for employees, and type random characters, but rather than firing them, or just realizing they shouldn't be there, the boss comes back with some "minor corrections", namely 95+% of the characters are crossed out (because a few random characters happened to be the right ones). Then there's their neighbor, Mr. Anderson. Between him and them, who's the dumb one? How many times has he obliviously trusted Beavis and Butthead? Same with their happy-go-lucky hippy teacher. Remember when they flew a kite in a lightning storm after being inspired by a documentary on TV about Benjamin Franklin? What happens, the media comes along, observes the TV schedule, says "nnnaaaahhh" and blames it on violence in the media. They're constantly getting out of trouble, because somehow, everyone around them is the stupid one. And the tao of Beavis and Butthead, the worlds which haunt me to this day, are "Life sucks. (in butthead's voice) And then you die! (in Beavis's)." Do you know why they behave the way they do? Because they know it doesn't make any difference. They're just living for the moment. They aren't trying to attain some sort of success or recognition or respect, they don't care about any of that. They just want to laugh at the stupid world around them. And that's exactly what they do. If you think they're stupid, you've fallen for their act. They're TROLLING YOU!
@officialclownbusiness77885 жыл бұрын
What if it's not even as deep as that? What if they are smart enough to realize that intelligence and kindness usually get shit on in this fucked up world, so to protect themselves they wear a "mask" of violence, idiocy, and destructive behavior?

Sponge Bob to each other, flies, frogs, and other simple creatures they are, and they say it's "cool" every time Van Dreeson gets severely injured. How many times has Butt-head told Beavis, "shut up, or I'll kick your ass"? It's easy as fuck to fake stupidity, (I have done so for decades), and they are indeed violent, at least towards each other, while enjoying, but not often participating in, violence against others.

As for how Beavis and Butthead have made the generational leap, well, my 12 year old daughter loves the show. She picks up on the subtleties, i.e., when they're experiencing something particularly awful on TV or at school, and their mouths turn down in that specific "this sucks!" way - she LOVES that! Or, when they went to the open mic night at the coffee shop - Beavis drank the "crappuccino" and Cornholio appeared? I'll say to her, out of the blue, "Your friend's really far out. What is he? Mexican? Russian?" Without hesitation, she answers in her best Butthead voice, "Uhhhuhhuh...yeah - he's Russian." Trying to pass this brilliance on, my friends...

I just think it's because their mothers worked so much to provide for them that we never see them in the show leaving them without much parental guidance, as I had a friend growing up like that whose mother was single & worked a lot to pay the bills, and would get home late at night a lot of times. Worst case he gets fired and goes home until he finds something else if he wants, where as the other guys there know if they get fired they can’t pay rent and can’t feed themselves and their family. It also indicates he’s using Beavis and knows while he is just pretending, Beavis is legit that dumb. You can tell when he says “settle down Beavis”...it’s almost like he’s saying “alright relax dude I’m just fucking around a little here”.....I don’t know. Judge had originally intended for Tom to be Hanks dad to link the Beavis and Butthead / King of the Hill universes, and to keep B&B relevant in the new show as theirs had ended. But the story goes that FOX(being more PG) didnt want any connections to B&B. So Judge created Cotton as Hanks dad for the series. But Hank was/is based on Tom. And he would have been Hanks dad if Mike Judge had his way.

That's Butt-Head's house. During a music video where he tells Beavis to make him some pancakes, he says the pan is in his bedroom, look under the bed. Beavis also finds a spatula there too. Then Beavis asks how much mayonnaise to use. Shit was hilarious now that I'm thinking about it again.

My theory is, Beavis is diabetic but he is not (nor Butthead or someone else) aware of it. everytime Beavis consumes candies, soda, coffee or any other food full of sugar he has the Cornhoolio rants, that doesnt seem impossible since diabetic patients can have episodes of desorientation while high on sugar. and the body language is an imitation of indian totem poles
@geezeymlpandlps1312 Жыл бұрын
As a diabetic, no this isn't true I have felt disoriented when my sugars are too high, but mainly confusion between dreams and reality and not mania like what Beavis experiences Sugar doesn't make diabetics hyper either(at least from my experience)

@@SmithDoe The movie doesn't rule that out. What we know from the movie is that Butthead Senior scored with two Highland chicks, and he insists that Beavis Senior never scored with either of them. We also know that both of the Motley Crue Roadies are possible matches for fathers, because Agent Bork matched their DNA to the DNA of the duo's semen in Anderson's camper. Maybe only one of Butthead Senior's scores, actually produced Butthead, and his score with the other chick was barren.

I think in the Sega Genesis game, you can walk straight from the TV room to Butt-Head's bedroom, and for whatever it's worth, that game was pretty loyal to the source material (the same bedroom is in one of the books), so in the back of my head I always assumed it was Butt-Head's house (or both of theirs?)

@feralcyborggaming15315 жыл бұрын
Pete White? Okay, I'm listening.
@kknives365 жыл бұрын
Dizziepunch Gaming he never shows up at least irl when the Sovereign does. He’s extremely cruel when he come towards any characters but Rusty and the Ventures, when Pete Soriyama kidnaps him, Baron Underbite, and Rusty. Pete is left chained to the Baron. It’s already established that Pete is a huge fan of pop culture possibly including Bowie and that the real sovereign was the same way. Pete did not want to be himself the sovereign said the same thing. My theory is that Pete White is the Sovereign mainly because he never appears as an actual character when the Sovereign is around, he’s shown he cares very little for any of his friends except Rusty and Billy - both of whom he’s looked out for and dismayed at their demise as Pete and defended as the the Sovereign. Of course Pete and the Sovereign also said they just wanted to someone else. I think it’s a good theory.
