I understand Eddie’s perspective with the psychedelic experimentation, but I think he doesn’t understand what a tool they can be. Ayahuasca can be great to discover the soul, to connect with yourself emotionally and treat people with compassion and empathy etc. but maybe isn’t the greatest thing for an active boxer. Dissolving the ego might not be the best thing when inflating the ego is important, you need an inflated ego in a fight, you must be over-sure and need that killer instinct, which involves an inflated ego. He’s changes, which is great for life, for his family and friends, for his soul etc. but maybe not great for knocking peoples heads off. Either way I’m happy he’s found some peace, little gutted AJ Wilder ain’t happening, but wilder relied on a huge ego, huge self belief and a wild right hand that he’d hugely over commit with, only working on sub par boxers, still achieved a lot considering his limitations, and was great in the sport.
