usually when anglo-canadians or americans comment on quebec culture it's rater negative, this is quite a refreshing change of attitude from my standpoint
@Imsemble7 жыл бұрын
quaxk I agree about some anglo-canadians (especially people from Toronto, idk why), but as someone who works in tourism every American I've talked found the culture really cool and enjoyed themselves.

@@Imsemble Because most Anglo Canadians look at all of Canada has English-speaking And Quebous willing to help them even when asked in English I find Anyone willing to Honor the person with thier own language no matter how poor it is Always gets some sort of interaction I speak 3 languages But my French is a mix of Acadian And Metis Still I get help And hear Stories of "Torontonians" being rude Thinking that French speaking wait staff Or store sales ignore them ..And yes it is true they do ignore them because they cant speak English Its up to you to say a few words break the ice And motion to what you want ...shit in 2022 You have apps for that

From Vermont (Verd Mont) and half of the community were Quebecois, Newfies or Nova Scotians when I grew up. Great people, great country, great chow and in the Vermont National Guard, we had a marching cadence about bludgeoning seals ("so bludgeon a seal, cuz u need a meal..." LMAO.

Just a guess, you live on Toronto don't you? I can tell you it's not hard to find up north, I'm not talking about your cottage country either, go north or east away from the US border and you'll find it rather easily in Ontario, it's common in tourtiere too as a filler meat, which you can find in Toronto and south pretty easily. Metro grocery stores also sell it, but in areas without Franco-Ontariens you have to ask at the counter so they don't gross the anglos out, odds are they have a bit.

What city are you in? I'm kind of a foodie with friends all over, PM me and I can tell you where to try it, I was hesitant when my dad started selling it in our store when I was kid, but it's actually really good. (Store is in Windsor Ontario, that being said it's easy to find in any provincial capital, or city over about 100k, you just need to know where to look. ;D hope you have as pleasant of a surprise as I did).

If you can't / won't eat food that is high calorie, supposedly unhealthy but tastes great, and you are going to die anyway, what is the point of living. Eat great food and be happy, with a glass of red wine.
