You are literally my new favorite channel. I absolutely love car history stuff, AND you solved a mystery for me. I have a video somewhere on my phone from 2-3 years ago of a Chevy Venture with the WB logo on the back in front of me at a stop light and I remember saying something like "Who would love WB enough to put a metal bugs bunny on the back of their minivan?" and sure enough, I learned today the factory did it! Hahaha.

I live in the UK now but lived in South Carolina as a kid in the late80s and my grandad had a new Jimmy 4x4 V6 - I seem to remember it was pretty high spec with alloys, two tone paint and half leather. He nearly brought it back to the UK too. Whacky special editons are great - Ford and Vauxhall here in the UK churned out limited editons by the dozen in the 80s and 90s. It came with a pearl white paint from Cadillac, leather/cloth seats, ABS, power accessories, special 15-inch wheels and blacked-out badging. They also did another one in 1999 with a full leather interior and this sort of "mint" color. Another one of my favorite GM special editions was the 2013 Avalanche Black Diamond. It was sort of released as a "last hurrah" for the Avalanche, similar to what the Eldorado Collector's Series was. It came with a special badge and a coffee table book which showed the history of the Avalanche; as well as a behind-the-scenes look at the Silao production plant, and was personalized with a copy of the owner's window sticker and commemorative photos of their truck.

Now that you’ve reminded me, I remember going mini van shopping with my mom, dad, & little brother around 2000. My bro & I were young, me 10 or so, him a couple yrs younger. I remember going through the brochure for the Chevy and seeing the WB edition. Nothing about the WB bit really registered with me at the time. Glossed over that, but I do remember lusting after that TV. She ended up leasing a Windstar, without a TV. My brother and I made it our mission to lobby for one with a TV every time the lease was up from that point on. 4 or 5 years and 2 Windstars later, they finally relented and got one with the TV, about the time I got my learner’s permit. I got to enjoy that TV for maybe 2 months before I was in the front seat, driving. A few months after that, my mom totaled it. After that she graduated from the mini van to a Volvo XC90. It had a Yamaha built 4.4L V8 making a little over 300hp. That was a lot of power back then. It sounded phenomenal, and to this day it’s one of the smoothest, fastest revving, best V8s I’ve ever experienced. I think Nobel used it, a modified version of it, in the M600. Which, at the time, was one of, if not the fastest car(s) in the world. It may not have been an inbuilt TV, but it brought me the same kind of joy over a car as if it were. I still lust over that motor, and have always wanted to put one in a project car. In a few years, when mid engine Vettes become a bit more plentiful, I’d love to find one with a blown up engine & transplant one of those 4.4L Yamaha/ Volvo V8s ((re)built) in its place. Or, now that I’m thinking about it, possibly a Lotus Evora/ Emira w/ the same, to take full advantage of the packaging/ transverse layout. Dunno if you could squeeze one into an Alpha Romeo 4C, but, holy shit, would that not pleasure all to completion every time it let you take it out? A MR2 might be more attainable, just as high maintenance, nearly as invigorating, but asks for nearly all your time at mere fractions of the price. Resell’d go the same. So, unlike the Italian, you’d be married to it. Ah, but to be made a fool for love any way you cut it?

@@GreenHawkDrive Yes and no... Both "Warner Brothers" and "Warner Bros." are correct. The problem is the way @GreenHawkDrive is pronouncing (or mispronouncing) "Warner Bros." as "Warner Bros". Do you notice the period after the word ("Bros.") in the first quotation? That's called an abbreviation. "Bros." is the abbreviated version of the word "Brothers" and it's not pronounced as "bros". If you notice, they use a period every time the word is shortened for a reason. The sale in 1967 changed the name to "Warner Bros.-Seven Arts". Two years later the company was sold again and the "Seven Arts" portion of the name was dropped. Warner has used both the full "Warner Brothers" and "Warner Bros." name since it's inception. Even early advertising from the company features the use of both styles. The abbreviated word "bro.", meaning "brother" (aka: male sibling) has been around since at least 1660. The slang word "bro" started to be used in the 1970's as a broad term for a male friend.

@@GreenHawkDrive it's really irritating that you can't be grownup enough to see that someone is trying to help you. Your videos show that you put in a good amount of effort to make the best videos possible. Am I wrong? If so, keep ignoring my and others advice. If I'm right, be humble enough to learn and understand that people like me are trying to help you sound less uneducated.

Great video with GM that had a lot of these special edition vehicles. Three that I would have touch base on that I find to be rare is the following the first one I don't know how rare it is but I will include it. 1 GMC Safari GT there was also a Chevy Astro version of it but I can't remember what they called it. 2 most will remember the Chevy Monza Spider Edition but there was also a Scorpion Edition. 3 1978 I think until 1980 Buick Century station wagon Hawk Edition.

I worked at a GM Pontiac dealer in 2000, this diamond edition was a total rip off. I remember looking at its 35k(in 2000 money) price tag as a college kid and I thought, who the hell would pay for this.
@l.e.miller1208 Жыл бұрын
I guess there's plenty of people that would pay that...but not for a GMC Jimmy...

My uncle had a Spirit Of America edition Chevy Nova. He took my dad and his brother to McDonald's after picking it up from the dealer. He got angry at them after they dropped burgers onto the seats.

Honorable mention: 2003 Lincoln Navigator Kittyhawk Edition. Coinciding with the 100th anniversary of the Kitty Hawk plane and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004, the game made a contest to win a 1 of 1 Navigator with a special badge

The Warner Brothers Venture was the same as the Oldsmobile Silhouette Premiere. We had a Silhouette Premiere with the VCR n TV Screen. Later models got a DVD player.

My gpa had the red Elderado when I was a kid. I loved that car, but one night he left it outside instead of parking in the garage like he always did. Some douche stole it and crashed it a mile away from his house. That crushed my gpa hard, he loved that car so much

@@GreenHawkDrive I have a flare side a odd Ford special edition 5speed manual and the ol 300 inline 6. I bought it at 72k miles. It now has 74k on it after a year of owning it. They are great trucks but, if you are in the rust belt make sure you spend lots of time inspecting these trucks. I have a whole list of stuff to check and some info on that year. So ask anything you want man, All I can 100% confirm is. Its easy to work on.
