I'm still in shock from winning this battle. I remember thinking during Bizkit's second round, « He's so strong, damn ». Let's all applaud the courage of a champion defending his title. Bizkit is a loopstation legend, and it was an honor for me to face you again. I'm happy to count you among my friends. Watching the battle, I kept saying, « If he switches to the MK2, we're all done » ^^ Thanks to everyone for the energy and positivity. Believe me, loopstation is a tough sport. Show respect to all competitors, we work for months to be on stage for a few minutes and give our best. @@ace5373 if you're looking for a legit explanation: i have no doubt that he does, but if you've ever tried it, performing live is a different beast. nervousness makes your voice shake, you don't have the chance to rerecord loops, and so on. it doesn't take someone with a great ear to tell that both of his rounds were not pitch accurate all the time even if they did remain in the same key. now i actually expected that, that's how most loopstation artists are. even the greats like mb14 and saro have that issue. but the crazy bit is, robin is actually hitting all the notes *perfectly*. i don't know too much about the technicals, whether there's pitch correction or whatever in his setup, but what i do know is that he's perfectly on key all the time. if bizkit has perfect pitch, his studio version will likely be perfect, but it becomes very hard to control it when you perform live. robin seems to be able to control it, which is likely why he got the win, considering the technical quality of both their rounds were equally fantastic. not discrediting either of them, i could never do what they do. i have perfect pitch as well and i have no doubt i would struggle to remain pitch accurate just because of the nerves.

Definitely one of the closest battles this year. It’s incredible what Bizkit can do on the MK1 and Robin just never fails to deliver. Amazing rounds from both! In my opinion this battle could’ve gone either way and whoever won would go on to win the GBB. I really enjoyed this battle! 🔥🔥🔥

Great battle overall, but bizkit's first round really was filled with false notes and failed harmonies. I just hope beatboxers can find a way to perform better live. It kind of ruined the round for me. Rest was great, sorry for the negative vibe 😁

I know bizkit has an incredible ear and could register that his chord has two notes with pitch deviation (one sharp one flat), but loopstation is so punishing and any imperfections are magnified by however many times the track repeats. Deleting it and starting over is out of the question

The thing i really like about bizkit in general and especially his 2d round in this battle is that he is actually doing beatbox loopstation. In that i mean he is really using his beatboxing to make the sounds of the round. Except the panning delay bass 13:51, everything was made either with his voice or his beatboxing. For example, look no further then the bass he used for the first drop at 14:57. He silent recorded it at 14:26. To make it he actually used his chest bass and distorted it, maybe put some eq but that's it and it came out really good !! It might sound simple but this type of looping is basically dead now because of looping moving to more of a music production type of deal. Huge props to Bizzy, will always be a fan :)

It was definitely pretty hard to judge this battle but what I think the crucial aspect of why Robin won is cleanliness of the music. Robin actually did what he always does and just improved in it. The pure musicality and the clean effects which makes you want to meditate or even float into space is soo good. Bizkit was also great, but I felt like he deviated from his style/sound on his round 1 (my only basis is his GBB 2021 performance, I haven't listened to his tracks outside of it so if he had some other styles, I didn't know about it). I think he tried to imitate Robin's style maybe as a counter, but it didn't hit as much as he probably would've liked (idk i just think maybe), but his round 2 is really, really good, although I think he fumbled near the end. Overall, I think Bizkit is really good at delivering hard-hitting and complicated arrangements, it's just that to my taste, some of his tracks are nearing oversaturation in terms of sounds or effects that I sometimes hear it as messy. Some of his drops are good when you think of the structure, but it borders messy when you listen to it (one track I could think of is one if his "King of the Groove" drop and "I'm a Looper" drop). In the end, if I were the judge, I would've picked the most consistent in terms of quality of their round and Robin rightly had that in the bag. I'm looking forward watching the rest of their battles. Loopstation category is what I really look forward watching every time.

Bizkit has had many more musical/melodic tracks over the years. I wish I could show you some of the shoutouts he made for SBX back in the day, but they were taken down. But his track Amber (His GBB21 Elimination) is a good example of that style which differs from his other tracks.

@@ajesco I do agree because some of his tracks are actually good without being overbearing. I had watched one of his stream sessions for a bit and the tracks sounded really good. I just think that what I've pointed out is something that maybe he can work on. I kinda notice that the sounds that make me feel overwhelmed from some of his drops are the effects with high frequencies, like it doesn't blend as well as it supposed to. The sound itself is good but maybe a bit of eq balancing will make it better (idk if it's even possible because idk how loopstation machine works but I hope he can work on it if it was possible.)

Again, for the second GBB straight my favorite battle of the competition and in my mind was really the deciding battle of the Comp as I don't think Matej could've taken either in the final. Either way absolutely beautiful battle with some of the best rounds of the competition. So happy for Robin and his first GBB final. he's been at it for so long he definitely deserves it. Of course sad for Bizkit but just like last year, it was just voting for whoever made less mistakes and judges preference. And Bizkit ended up making more mistakes this time. Looking forward to see what these guys have in store for 2024!
