I really never noticed how 7 and 8 were together a huge homage to the history of horror. 7 was a lot of 'modern' tropes like slashers and pscyhe horror and such as you discussed in your video on it (which was great), while 8 goes further back to the monster flick. It gives the games a flow that their different tones is able to hide but still let you feel it if you pay attention. Really neat.

I totally agree with your opinion on the Dimitrescu section. It was SO hyped up and while very interesting, killing her off before the other lords (not Heisenberg, the other two) that are way less interesting or personalized was such a let down. It would have been great for her to come back as a villain later with a vengeance for her own daughters as a foil like you said.

Honestly yeah it would’ve been better if it went something like: 1.Swamp 2.Doll House 3.Castle 4.Heisenberg’s Workshop Moving into the swamp from the village setting doesn’t seem to far fetched Plus once you do the doll house then move into the castle you’re moving from one interior to the next and since the doll house is by far the scariest, you’ll be on guard for moving into what appears to be “doll house 2.0”

I love including her into more of the story... BUT the point regarding her lust for vengeance and relating to Ethan and his search for his daughter just doesn't feel equal. Those aren't her REAL daughters. They're people she experimented on. They're her creations but in a much more twisted sense of the term. I dont see her relating to Ethans struggle to find his daughter or even the other POV that she wants revenge for her "daughters". That being said, I can imagine her as a recurring boss through each of the other 3 sections, seeing as she craved Ethans life harder than any of them compared only to Heisenberg. (Maybe not the doll house as that seems like an entirely different universe) But her in her normal form could have crept into the Dollhouse at the end of the segment to possibly have Ethan find the blade in the dollhouse locked away in the basement. He then uses it and transforms her into the dragon form. She then takes off and you don't see her until the swamp where she swoops in right as you're killing Moreau and absolutely guts him in a ravenous state (calling him ugly as fuck and undeserving of challenging Ethan) she kills Moreau and you have to have the dragon battle with her, at the end of which she becomes far weaker but still gets away. She then finally appears after you get to that final Heisenberg battle of grandiose proportions and it's a 1 v 1 v 1 super brawl of giant creatures attacking eachother and Ethan. Having it culminate in a HUGE blitz of faux sibling rivalry as they take eachother out and Ethan gets to kind of sit back and enjoy the fireworks as Heisenberg BARELY gets the win over Lady D. Then you finish him off and boom Mommy Miranda comes through.

Absolutely agree. Honestly a few of the plot points seem unfinished. There’s so many clues around the Beneviento house that don’t seem to add up. And I really want to learn more about who Moreau was before Miranda found the village! Uriaș also seems like a really cool character. There’s just so many loose ends. I do adore the game, but many parts of it feel rushed.

My best guess for why Chris didnt tell Ethan anything was simply that he wanted to get Ethan somewhere safe, away from "Mia", before he did, which is fine reasoning. Anyone else would do the same. He also might have wanted to get Rose and Ethan tested first, to make sure Miranda hadnt done anything to them.

@@InktheImpassive i feel like Chris knew very well about Ethan's condition and knowing they had tested the passage of information through the mold, at first he didn't want to risk Ethan's moldy ass relaying any info to Miranda - Through any means, be it her prying when posing as Mia or when Ethan entered her literal playground. Telling him when he did, they knew they were basically entering the endgame and up until then, Ethan was enough of a wildcard to get them that far. What i think he did not expect was for Miranda to take out Ethan immediately after that... Or i guess, he did not expect him to actually be able to die from a wound like that after all that happened.

First video I’ve seen of you but man the QUALITY! Obviously the inserting yourself into the game scenes was phenomenally done, down to the lighting and sound design, the props, that must’ve been so much work! But also the script itself, the pacing and writing was really outstanding as well. A great mix of fun and also earnest commentary. Outstanding job, will now go watch the re 7 one and waiting for part 2 of this! PS: Neil wasn’t the only one who moved from Re8 onto BG3- Maggie who played and voiced Lady D is Orin! Also hard agree the Lady D section was way too short and should’ve come later- I would’ve swapped her with Moureau, having to go there first to restore electricity to raise the bridge. Problem is, she is a stalker type enemy and Moureau is an action bullet sponge boss, which means they are more effective in the og order, and it mirrors re7 horror journey of first having no weapons, being helpless and fleeing to becoming more and more competent and armed. I think they should’ve let us escape the castle with her alive and then fight her later, maybe having Heisenberg give you the dagger to get you on his side, having a paralleled version where now instead of sneaking around, you reenter the castle armed to the teeth and hunt her down, leading to her boss fight. And yeah her stalking you should’ve been implemented better.

My first game that i've won from GF when she bought me a PS5. So i have a HUGE bias towards it! (Even more that i'm also a father who almost lost his own child and his mother, my GF on the same day) Playing it on the "Insane" Level, truly felt an immersive/vivid survivor horror expirience! Every bullet that i've shot, enimie that i've ran away from... I felt every single choice... Even more the intro, which was crazy to fight all of those werewolfs, i really felt Ethan's anxiety and fears trought all the game.

Nothing will beat the amazing feeling the castle section gave me. The graphics, the story of the residents of the castle and being chased around by the amazingly designed Lady D! One of my all time favourite games.

To be honest it really isn't that good, especially once you've beaten lady D. Second boss got shafted so hard by the time you see Donna her section is already over. Moreau was a joke, and Heisenberg's section is by far the most boring design-wise, felt very RE7 ship section.

Fun Fact: the “heal juice” doesn’t actually do anything. Ethan Winters died at the beginning of 7 and what ethan is now is the black goop stuff in Ethan’s for and has essentially become him with his memories and has the ability to regenerate he just needs a trigger which come in the form of heal juice.
