Good Day Chris and Neil. I always enjoy your show, for the fact that you are very knowledgeable and well informed. One fact that you make mention of is the huge and extravagant travel cost of politicians and people in our country go hungry on a daily basis and do not get proper service delivery. It is told that the reason why our teachers in South Africa are being retrenched, because there is not enough funds to pay their salaries.This is ridiculous, such an important part of our education system, and we neglect it. Our children need teachers.I trust that traveling budgets will be cut ,and teachers will be employed. Thanks again Chris and Neil for exposing mismanagement in our government.

Let´s be honest. The patrionage/cadre system in the ANC will ensure that all these politicians like Fikile, Gwede etc. will continue to operate in powerful posisions such as the cabinet until they retire, die or the ANC are no longer the majority party in SA. We have another 4 years of things getting worse before we have any hope of change, because the GNU is not making any meaningful difference to the economy at this stage.

In a previous life I used to produce factual content for TV and as a result, got to interview some of the political leaders in the then new democracy. The penny of how screwed we are as a young democracy dropped when in off the record/off screen discussions with them, it was very clear that they understand micro and macro economics, what it takes to build organised and efficient societies, etc. (i.e. they were not screwing up because they don't know better or are confused, rather, they're doing all this intentionally) .The 2nd one dropped when the pass rate in public schools was changed to 30% - this automatically (scientifically proven) means that you cannot think critically on many levels, therefore we have generations of inept adults who cannot and will not be able to think critically (problem for themselves and their communities, build healthy interpersonal relationships, etc) and will not have the wherewithal to ask the supposed leaders challenging questions or even demand better, they will settle for whatever they get or when they rebel, be completely distractive. As a fellow traveler I appreciated this is not uniquely South African, it's disturbing and worrisome that as we face global challenges, we have ensured that our house is not in order (climate change is just one of the many things that will hand our behinds to us, then there's AI, etc. - inequality will continue in a completely different fashion). On the other hand, it's heartwarming to know that there are fellow South Africans who believe and understand that we have an incredible country and amazing people that are worth standing up for. Thanks @BizNewsTv and Neil for reminding us that we are smart and capable and while it might not always be fun, we all have to do our part to make it work.
