I just noticed that this video has elements from vespertine: the pearls that hurt and were attached to her now are healing her wound; the threads still envelope her in a cocoon, but now instead of remain trapped in it, it helps her to move on

family is such a beautiful song. seriously ive never heard a song tell such an intense and intimate story broken into 3 parts. I feel the beginning (not in this video) is absolutely devastating. shes so broken and the sudden loud bass hits with heartbeats and strings full of tension fully captivates that. then we get to part two (where this video starts) and it feels like panic. extreme concern for her child and her own well-being. the very choppy and sudden strings represent that. then we get to part three and the tension suddenly begins to resolve. as represented by the soft sounds and resolution, as well as this video, it shows a steady healing process. i wish there was a full length video for all 8 minutes of the full song. so intense and beautiful and healing. good for the soul. warmth,

Words cannot describe my admiration for Bjork...Everything she does is so artistically inspiring + her work has so much thought and emotion injected into it in. Spotting the extracts of past work weaved into current pieces adds so much depth to her clear growth through life. This isn't just a breakup album. This tells a story of a woman's world; her child, her confidence, her sexuality and happiness being impacted by this loss of love.

Oh my...GOD! This is incredibly beautiful! We can really feel all this organic-spiritual pain she felt in her but also, the fate and courage she had to heal her wounds after a long relationship and painful break-up. That's why I love her so much because through her authenticity, we still can relate to her; A lot of us have gone through a "big" rupture, separation with someone that we loved a lot but we had to "finish" the relation. It's always hard, very hard but she does demonstrate that it is "biologically" possible. Thank you Bjork and I cannot wait to see more!

"Family" Is there a place Where I can pay respects For the death of my family Show some respect Between the three of us There is the mother and the child Then there is the father and the child But no man and a woman No triangle of love So where do I go To make an offering I fall on my knees And lay my flowers Burn incense Light the candles So where do I go To make an offering To mourn our miraculous Triangle Father, mother, child How will I sing us Out of this sorrow Build a safe bridge For the child Out of this danger Danger I raise a monument of love There is a swarm of sound Around our heads And we can hear it And we can get healed by it It will relieve us from the pain It will make us a part of This universe of solutions This place of solutions This location of solutions

I buy all of her CDs (my limited edition Post was signed by Bjork at Tower Records Dublin, 1995). I will always part with cash for Bjorks CDs, gigs and DVDs. No artist makes me feel like she does. An Everyday Student This is a 2 1/2 minute section of an 8 minute song. The album it's on, "Vulnicura", is an album reflecting on Bjork's split with her husband back in late 2013. It was more focused on the emotional content, rather than the accessibility. That being said, I think some of it is catchy, and all of it is gorgeous. Music doesn't always have to be danced to. Sometimes it's good to just listen and soak it in.

Family is definitely my favorite track off of Vulnicura. Evokes Homogenic 100% for me and I feel this track should have been the closer to the album similar to how All is Full of Love was. As for the constant bashing of Matthew Barney from this album being released....I feel as though people are being too harsh to jump to conclusions. I only am familiar with some of Barney's work and I'm not sure what my overall opinion of it is but keep in mind Bjork and Barney were together for a a long time and I am sure there was mutual love and support there. These relationships, especially for celebrities, can be super difficult to sustain and often times do fall apart naturally. People drift apart, It's only natural. It's not men vs. women. Of course their is tremendous heartbreak....that is life. Let's not be so quick to pass such harsh judgement on the other party.
@solargeknowles43549 жыл бұрын
My skin crawls listening to Family. This specific part makes me sob completely. Yeah all we can do is speculate. But I love Björk and for her to be so frank and personal in this album, just like she was frank and personal on Vespertine (an album about specifically the love, sex, and overall happiness with Matthew Barney. I can only assume that he fucked up, like I feel like out of nowhere he said "I'm done. I have a mistress, and Im leaving you for her". Its terrible to speculate. But it makes every angry for her. But again this is her perspective. So the only people who know are them and their families.
@osvaldomorales30719 жыл бұрын
I don't know, to me family is one of the hardest tracks to swallow on vulnicura (mouth mantra and quicksand are not my favorites either) but this video is soooo Björk that is almost impossible not to love it. As for Barney, I think it's only logical that Björk's fans are gonna stand for her but he inspired her for some of her best works (as you know vespertine is all Barney) but we don't really know what happened between them.
@alltsem9 жыл бұрын
Osvaldo Morales family and mouth mantra are my favs lol. and history of touches. anyway, I think people need to keep in mind that songwriting can be a "release" but not always represent reality. we can't know what happens behind closed doors and we shouldn't care because it doesn't affect us. luckily i haven't seen any fans misbehaving too much
