This phrase gets used way too much, but björk was truly, completely, and absolutely 100% _ahead of her time_ in a very big way. Her music, her style, her fashion, acting, everything. björk basically was doing everything Lady Gaga does now, 25 years ago (that's not a dig on Gaga btw, who is herself a multi-talented artist).

@@daedalus_20v yes. gaga is one of those modern artists that made me appreciate björk's style (along with fka twigs). and i don't care if that phrase is overused because of the truth it holds. now avant-garde and weirdness are embraced by the public with the rise of billie eilish and some other alt girls and i'm more than glad to have found their mother which is björk.

They were giving the world so much inspirations about natures and souls and even the beauties of the mother earth. All of them still are the very significant Icelandic's tone especially for the underground and the alternative music of the 80s to 90s' music world. For me Björk is the ultimate female artist role model. It’s all about art, not about showing off your sexappeal like so often times in pop music. However, Björk being herself and delivering her art in such a raw way is sooo sexy.

Björk's music has several layers. Percussion, strings, some electronic fills and her voice. If we just consider the strings it's possible to hear a master piece. When we hear whole musical complex our feet leave the ground. It's impressive! The aesthetic's video is also great. Seems to me like an early science fiction aesthetic. Very creative and sensitive! I love it!
