Thanks a lot for the upload of this small gem. It made my day! I'm sick with covid and isolating from my family - including my 10m old son. It's the longest time I spent without being able to hug him or play with him, which is pretty tough, and the intimacy of this unique concert soothes the time a bit...

@sisterseeth2 жыл бұрын
I'm so happy for you! You've got a LOT of good material out there to work with. Bjork has worked her butt off since the 80s, so there's a lot to go through. If you like this type of paired down, vocal-centered vibe, I would go for Biophilia, Medulla, Verspertine, Homogenic. If you love techno-tribal, unique beats, go for Debut, Post, Volta, and the many, many remix albums (my fav being Biophilia remixes named Bastards - arguably better than the original depending on your preferences). And then you have all of the live DVDs, albums, etc which are all usually done on different instruments and with new vocalizations, backup groups, DJs, ect. She rarely does the same thing in the same way, twice. Every project she does is always massive in conceptual scope. It's a feast. Her last few albums have been so vastly orchestral and dismissive of familiar time signatures/harmonies, it's been difficult for me to settle into them. I would LOVE to be just discovering her work. Have fun and go places!
@ArchAngelManga2 жыл бұрын
@@sisterseeth thank you Brian, all of that info is really helpful. I'm aware her discography is very eclectic, but I prefer the stripped down, vocal-centric vibe of this as you so eloquently described. I'll be sure to put your album recommendations on my playlist and run through them over the weekend!

She still looks like a young girl. Her sound is utterly unmistakable and unique and mesmerising. Listening to this reminds me of when I was around 14, sitting a music exam, bored and completely unprepared, and Fire 🤔 Firebird by Stravinsky was played and we had to name the composer. I didn't have a clue who composed it but I felt liberated from the constraints of my stifling, organised life. It gave me hope. Completely off the musical tracj 😊 track but similar theme, a brilliant quote from dazzlingly irreverant House, the series, "Thats because you never did anything stupid or irresponsible or even vaguely interesting since you were 17". I have never climbed back into the box, since I heard that piece by Stravinsky and hearing Bjork again has convinced me that I must not feel pressured in this, the twilight of my life, to compromise my discordant life. Thank you
