This performance quite honestly made me cry. Seeing both bookends of Bjork's solo career merge in such a gorgeous way, from the wild-child party girl in Debut to the healing matriarch in Utopia...and that voice sounds the same after all these years! Overwhelming moment as a fan!

The flutes create a depth the saxophones simply couldn't. That with the Icelandic mixed in . . . This is a tearjerker.

Amazing how good this song fits into this new utopian-sound 25 years later.

One of my all time favorites. I used to sing it acapella just to feel close to her sweet spirit in my 20s. I love how her songs can be updated and just go so easily in whatever she is currently working on. She is timeless and multifaceted. Love her forever.

It makes me terribly sad that I never got to see her when she was younger and her voice was much stronger. Her voice has weakened a lot but not in a bad way, plus it is a testament of how hard she has worked and how dedicated and passionate she has always been in her craft. The weariness in her voice shows all that passion she has delivered on the stage for decades. I love her so much! I am glad she continues to create and I am hopeful I will still get to see her soon.
@carlosbugnon7 ай бұрын
I had the opportunity to see her live here in Argentina last year and let me tell you that her voice felt incredibly strong! Voice is a very sensitive and variable instrument, of course your statement is true and totally makes sense, but I encourage you to see her if you get the chance!

"Ég bý við sjóinn Og á nóttunni Þá kafa ég níður Alveg á hafsbotninn Undir allar iður Og sett akkerið mitt út Hér vil ég vera Hér á ég heima" (I saw someone had posted the English lyrics so I thought I'd add the second half / the Icelandic version. Which is called Um Akkeri, in case you wanted to know ;) (edit: she actually sings some parts differently than the lyrics but I don't know how to write it out properly so this is just gonna end up being how I hear them to be, but I'm Norwegian so I'll prolly not do *too* bad) "Ég heima við sjóinn og á nóttunni thá kafa èg níður Undir allar iður iður á hafsbotninn I look út akkeri hier vil ég vera hier á ég heima" (Ik it's grammatically incorrect at times, and that I changed part of it into English, but, like I've said, this is only an arguably more accurate version that I myself created because the actual lyrics weren't matching up to what she was singing in Icelandic.)

@carnigob42069 Жыл бұрын
honestly this isnt my favorite song of hers but i believe it is her best song because thru all of its many different interpretations over the years and the distinct energy of the song hasnt been lost or diminished at all. bjork is a master of emotional intelligence with her ability to present raw convoluted confessional lyrics on top of a well balanced ambiance in a way thats easy to comprehend and never comes off as unaware or pretentious. the anchor song is about one of her grandmother's paintings and about her son and about her country and many other secret things, and it continues to leave me awestruck at how clear and simple and open it is.

When i listen to your Music, ......... i want to scream! It´s so hard to breath, ... it´s like You are I am! I want to say things, scream them out OUT but, no one listens ... listens to me! I want to scream, i want to breath, ... I am suffocating inside of me. It´s like being in a nightmare and you´re running and running from something and you´re running out of breath and you know, that you´ve lost, that one´s about to die, that I am dead. Then, I just stop to run, I am standing still and awaiting to die. Your Music is making me feel so, so restless, so tired like i haven´t sleaped for days....................................
