@elvideoentertainment yess, also it'd be awesome if you did a video in the b-sides you missed! There's some really good ones like Karvel, Scary, Verandi, Domestica, etc.

always loved your insight into Björks work. Can't wait for Vulnicura. For me, it's her best work.

Yes, it's about motherhood and pregnancy! The reason she chose to only use vocals was because she was "stuck" at home taking care of her newborn and couldn't go to the studio or like, use a piano while holding her baby, so she began writing it by recording her vocals. She also says that pregnancy and giving birth made her super aware of her body and flesh and bones. The "gasping for air" is Inuit throat singing done by canadian artist Tanya Tagaq. This kind of singing was one of the first to exist even before language, hence "Ancestors". For that track Tanya freestyled acapella for 20 minutes, then Björk took a fragment and, without editing it, placed it over one of her demos and it fit perfectly, with the same build ups and silences.

Wow that’s really cool and insightful and deep. Didn’t know that was a type of singing and to call it ancestors is deep. I like it. Thank you for the insight!

This was a Pleasant Unexpected surprise 😀. Def a treat, especially because im sick in bed 🤧🤒. Her implementation of Beat Boxing, Throat Singers , and other types of Vocalists demonstrate Bjork's undoubted Musicianship, creativity and genius. She was approached by the Olympic Committee in 2003/2004 to commission a Song for the Opening Ceremonies at the 2004 Olympic Summer Games in Athens , which resulted in Oceania Glad you got back to continuing Bjork's discography. Cheers 🥂

My favorite Björk album. She brought in lots of guests, like beatboxers, throat singers, full choirs... Apart from a piano in "Ancestors" and a gong in "Pleasure Is All Mine", everything you hear in this album is human voices. The production is exquisite. "Mouth's Cradle" and "Triumph of a Heart" are my favorites.

wow what a sweet surprise for Sonnets/Unrealities, the song is basically about meeting your ex's new lover and wishing them the best, could she do that?
@elvideoentertainment4 күн бұрын
That’s what I like to hear lol Edit cause I didn’t read the second part: and I feel that, I get that
@outlastinglettuce26263 күн бұрын
@@elvideoentertainment fun fact: the song lyrics come from a poem by E.E Cummings (same as Vespertine's Sun in My Mouth). After she divorced her partner (same partner she sang about in Vespertine), she performed that song again but know just as "Sonnets", since it wasn't an "unreality" anymore

Oceania is’t really about motherhood its a personification of the ocean, it was written for the 2004 olympics (check her performance) she’s singing to the athletes from the pov of the ocean
@outlastinglettuce26263 күн бұрын
But from the ocean as a mother's pov, since all life is said to come from the ocean, hence all living beings sharing a common ancestor, though it's really lovely how he extrapolated those lyrics to the human experience of being a mother and giving birth

I’m not sure if you’re into her enough to want to, but she released a live album + a film-excerpt-combo a few days ago. It’s from a 2023 concert for her Cornucopia Tour and has some crazy visuals and vocals. maybe you can watch it :) **it’s mainly made of up songs from Utopia (2017), so if you’re doing a discography deep-dive then maybe not yet
