Brass nuts used to be used on premium motor and other high heat applications that require assembly and disassembly. I worked on industrial ovens filter and fan units all had SS studs and brass nuts to prevent corrosion and heat galling of the threads. Premium exhaust manifold stud kits can be purchased with brass nuts. Just my limited experience. How does that saying go; it was running when I had it?

The head might be ok to machine if the hardened inserts are sitting higher than the amount of warpage. I've seen a diesel head being machined that got into them. Not a nice sound. Get yourself some Wurth Rostoff ICE. It works so much better than any other product. It should help a lot with that glow plug. cheers.

get a washer and nut weld it to that broken glowplug, She'll Be Right again...

Good luck with that second donk...I suppose there are enough parts between the two along with some new/used parts to buy. What's involved (besides the mechanical adaptors etc.) to fit a newer diesel in the LC?

Not sure about the engine swap side of it, but being a rare model we are aiming to keep it original, albeit with a non matching engine for the time being.

Damn what a pain in the ass. I could sponsor a good block but sadly I live in Germany, shipping would be more than sourcing a good block down under.

Actually cool to see a budget build not many guys do it on KZbin a lot of guys in the real world do but most channels they are like oh we got this brand new motor never mentioning how much things cost. 🤞crossed the spare motor is a good one I usually keep my wrecked parts I have my shagged diff and t56 out of my xr8 ute so if the second hand replacements fail I’ll have the originals rebuilt and repeat the process

WHERE CAN I GET INOX WITH THAT TOP
@shellberightgarage2 жыл бұрын
I got that from my local place. It came with the "larger" can, and now I keep it and swap it over for all of them.
