**** LOOK! LOOK AT ME! CORRECTIONS COMMENT ! **** I missed a few things in this video that are very important, I'm very sorry to the following for not including you in the video, that is my bad. 1. Barbiegirls.com There actually is a barbiegirls.com rival project in the works that I glossed over in my research, you can check it out here: "www.flowcode.com/page/barbiegirlsrewritten" or at there KZbin @BarbieGirlsRewritten 2. Littlest Petshop Online There is also a LPSO.com rewritten in development as well that I did not find originally, you can check it out here: "lpso-revived.carrd.co/#" or at there KZbin @lpso_revived 3. Nicktropolis Nicktropolis as well has a revival effort titled "Nicktropolis Timewarp" that can be found here "gamejolt.com/get/build?game=803261&build=1496726" I don't know how I glossed over these, but I did, witch is very shit. These are very cool, amazing efforts to bring back games that I and many of you loved. and they deserve recognition, so if you were a fan of any of these please go check these remakes out.

I remember some other virtual one about choosing a team to live in their place (There were green and red team) both had diff currencies and if you wanted to visit the red team place you would have to go to some bank to convert the currency and you could even go to fight for the green team or steal money from the other team and wars and events ,and once you have chosen your team you cannot go back , I don't remember the game name but it was made the middle eastern channel for children (MBC3)

the hilarious thing about pixie hollow is that you used to only be able to make pixies. making a male character wasn't even an option. so boys would go on there and make a girl character with short hair and spam "IM A MAN" in the spawn area

One of my absolute FAVORITE online games was Fantage. I played religiously everyday as a child & even convinced my parents to buy the subscription that gave you access to the special clothes & accessories in world. Mark 1.15 15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Hebrews 11:6 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Jesus

I've never heard anyone talk about this game before it's called Bella Sara It was basically this horse game that had packs of trading cards you bought with codes to get those horses online. You couldn't do much with the horses themselves besides feeding & brushing them but there was lots of fun mini games to play. Those games would give you coins you could use to buy items to decorate your room and I think each horse you logged on would come with its own unique item to put in your room too. I can't entirely remember, it's been a long time. I'm not sure if it's still up today, last I checked it was but that was 3 or 4 years ago now. I had so much fun on there & a handful of others on this list too. Webkinz, Poptropica, Animal Jam, Pixie Hollow, Littles Pet Shop, & Build-A-Bear were some of my favorites.

Here is a list of some other virtual worlds, that I remember playing: 1. Panfu - It is a very popular virtual world, similiar to club penguin but with pandas. It is so popular, that I'm a bit shocked, that it didn't make it to this video. It had many crossovers, with Disney, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Lorax, Nintendo, Megamind... 2. Happystudio - McDonald's Second virtual world. It was from around 2010-2016 3. Monkey quest - Nickelodeon's world with monkeys. It had some pvp or something too, i dont really remember. There is a recreation of the whole game, as a minecraft map. I also have dreams about this game from time to time... Yeah, pretty wild. Especially that I didn't played it much. 4. Nickelodeon's the club - Similiar to nicktropolis, but with Penguins from madagascar, Icarly, Fanboy and chumchum and such. 5. LEGO Star Wars III Beta - A virtual world. It wasn't a beta version of LEGO Star Wars III. It was a completly diffrent game, where you basically only unlocked characters, and went trough places, with a possibility to watch some trailer footages. There was only 1 minigame in which you had to build the III with some other players, from the lego bricks. It had also clones literally sh1tting themselves, when a sith attacked them. Yeah, pretty wild. It was 2D btw.

you mentioned LPSO, but before that, they had LPS VIPs (vips standing for virtual pets, i think). they were similar but slightly different, LPSO was a lot more expanded and i think it leaned into the multiplayer concept more (I don't know, I never played it) LPS VIPs were the same idea, you bought a pet and you could add it to your account. there were no customisation options for the pets, but you could name them, give them clothes and you could decorate your own room, as well as visit friends' rooms. there were several online areas to explore, and a few minigames to play. one was a rythm dancing game, i think? anyway, it's definitely lost media now, which is a shame.

It's being developed by a single guy, so it's going really slowly. I would link it, but youtube just decided to hate links recently. I remember putting a lot of hours into it.

When you said you knew nothing about animal jam, and then gave it that wholesome explanation. Oh boy. The history of this game is kind of crazy, and I think all the educational aspects flew out the window in like 2015. Nowadays it’s mainly just people trading and focusing on the rarity of items (it always has been to different extents). It used to be owned by National geographic, which explains the educational origins, but it no longer is.

Items from the beta of the game were not accessable anymore so anyone who owned them would trade them to others and everyone was obsessed with owning beta items There were also villains called phantoms trying to polute the intire world and would kidnap people and you could go on optional Adventures to save the lands some adventures actually most of them were for members only you could also as an animal have your own tiny pets, there were also lots of creepypastas on youtube about the game i remember watching And hackers

Wait it's not owned by net geo anymore? Also when he was mentioning this, I was hoping he'd mention the beta version of crystal sands called sandy shores or something like that. Apparently someone somehow was able to get ahold of it and then made their own server of it. (It's been years so my memory may be a little fuzzy) basically there was a big scare going around to never follow anyone to Crystal sands as you could end up in the beta version and get banned by ajhq. I was able to avoid mostly every kind of hack or band that's been going around except for the one around 2020-2021? Where basically the whole game was hacked and I lost my account due to it. I tried getting back into animal jam play wild but I quickly learned that I just miss the nostalgia now and not the game itself.

I remember playing one of Cartoon Network around 2008-2011 where you controlled big headed avatars called Toonix. You could dress them like popular characters of the time (BenI0, Foster Mantion, Grim Adventures, Chowder, Flapjack, etc.) and you could join rooms with more people and talk with them. I remember searching about it some time ago and found that was exclusive to South America. I'm not so sure tho. Maybe somebody else knows about it?
@pedromourao298 ай бұрын
I played that alot aswell. Although I prefered playing FusionFall, a 3D Unity-based MMO on browser. It was Cartoon Network's more exciting MMO. At that time I was around 9-12 in age and had very limited knowledge in English, but it was still worth it. Around 2012 Cartoon Network would redirect visitors to their website to their nationality's Cartoon Network website, so that sucked a but IMO. Eventually it shut down. At least it was fun to hang in there for a bit, even that's a opinion I got in middleschool. Have a nice week.

One Virtual world you didn't mention and barely anyone mentions is Zwinky. I was an avid player from the late 2000's up until the sites closure in the mid 2010's, it was made by a small team i think and used emojis as avatars and used a tool bar for the game and for emojis. it had a heavy late 2000's art style, clothing, furniture, music and it was great. It had several big collabs with Sketchers, Snoop dog and more. They had several minigames, worlds, characters to talk to etc. Out of all the virtual worlds back then Zwinky was one of the most interactive with it's fanbase and fanartists, legit they did many clothing collabs with actual players of the game, did art and clothing competitions and the winners of them their clothing was actually put into the game, listened to the player base and genuinely it was great, heck you could even design your own clothes and wear them. It's just sad how little people talk about Zwinky even though it had such big collabs and had a very active player base for many years.

It’s nuts from having a rick roll boom box to being able to have houses you have so much creativity in and could actually go out of bounds. Whereas there is another fan creation that is out there but only able to explore things while plenty of features and what not are still missing. I used to be a big fan of a virtual world called Dizzywood. Played it for years I’d say until they changed the style and gameplay into something a lot more restrictive and lame. Loved Dizzywood. I recall convincing people I was a dev for the game, you were able to change the colour of literally every aspect about your appearance so I changed everything to blue and I guess people hadn’t realised you could do that so believed me when I said I worked for them. Lies and slander I was like 11. I also played a chat room virtual world called Tinierme that was pretty cool, spent my first real internet related all nighters in middle school on that site. Did some sexy rp on there without really realising what I was doing, just sort of playing along to what everyone else was doing. My first ever bf was on there as well, we talked like one time then started dating then he never really talked to me so broke up with him. His screen name was Lelouch which I didn’t know at the time was from an anime I thought he just had a strange name and genuinely told people about him. Embarrassing but extremely funny. Good times back when the internet was fun. One of my old roommates was really big on movie star planet and told me he used to convince people to gift memberships to him. He had like drama, we even found an ancient KZbin channel that mentioned him by name! I frequented maybe 5-6 other weird virtual worlds not mentioned here, some I don’t even know count as a virtual world. In Canada we have YTV which had a kids website where you could play games and pile around and do stuff in order to dress up/customise this like robot alien thing? Fun fun fun. Last thing, when I was a child I had a build a bear but I may have gotten it before they implemented the virtual stuff, or maybe I just didn’t know about it at the time? Anyways, when I learned about the game I was really upset I couldn’t put my snow leopard into the game so I emailed the build a bear people explaining that I had my stuffies birth certificate and included a detailed written physical description of her based off of my own measurements. I think I must have been like 8 so it was clearly written by a child, but whoever answered the emails at the time must have really felt for me because they emailed me back with a username and password that they had created for me that had a snow leopard already registered in the game and I was able to actually play with it!! It was a really cool thing they did, some random employee of build a bear going out of their way to make sure I could enjoy the game. I don’t know if I thanked them but I wish I could cause it stuck with me. Also that game was busted as hell they had a bank system where you could put all your money in the bank then fuck off for like 6 months and when you came back you got crazy interest so I was always rich whenever I remembered the game existed hehe

The video essay/commentary/iceberg channel format isn't hard to master, but definitely takes a lot of devotion and commitment. I'm glad this small little indie channel found his stride and attracted the algorithm. Very deserving of the 100K views. Despite being his only video of the sort, his video was well-made: informative, comprehensive, nostalgic, and even entertaining. Like I found myself laughing a lot of his jokes, which I appreciate. Comedy isn't necessary for an iceberg video but he went the extra mile and peppered his own little gags and charm in. As a fellow person born in October 2001, I'm envious of the creator's passion and creativity. Hopefully he considers making more iceberg content. (At least, if there are any topics izzzyzzz hasn't already covered LOL) P.S. RIP classic Poptropica, Webkinz, and the GOAT El Club Pinguino.

I remember there being a Korean MMO known as Katamari Damacy Online, and I think it had some online world elements such as a hub world, socialization features, character customization, a home that the player could probably accessorize (allegedly), and a few other things. It’s lost media now.

While watching this I remembered one game targeted towards girls called f.a.m.p.s. It was a a character insert game like webkins. The starter kit came with the toy, this donut looking scanner that needed to be plugged in and the CD. They also sold other characters that were all named after different emotions. I even looked it up while the video played and even asked my friend who owned them as well. I ended up finding out that it’s considered lost media with only a few videos on here and more photos of the toys. I also found out it was made by Mattel and there’s still info on it on their website

You're missing Worlize!! I played that one all the time! It shut down a while ago now, and I still miss it. It was like a virtual chat room where your icon was just a png you uploaded, but it was fun! You could make your own house/"world" where others could join, you could visit other worlds including "Harry's Bar" which had a chat bot you could talk to (and would give you pngs of drinks if you asked!) The game originally started as a My Little Pony virtual world under a different name, which I also played, but then changed to Worlize. I've never seen anyone talk about Worlize, like it's completely forgotten. So I'd love if someone finally talked about it.

amazing video! i too was a chronically online kid who would sign up to anything that even looked a tiny bit like a virtual world. i still think about many games often, one of them actually being MiniMonos! thank you for reintroducing the memory of this game that has been nothing but 'that one monkey world' for the last decade of my life. some more that i still think about: Panfu - can't express the delight i experienced when i saw a rewritten was made. the stories rivalled moshi monster HQ missions for sure. Free Realms - boy, i still mourn this game. i was too young to understand why it ended but i assume it was due to costs. such beautiful art style paired with fun places to explore and people to meet. hope i get to see it again one day. Garden Party - this was MY 'no one else has heard of this?' game. likely lost media. i remember loving the painting mini game and just being a little character in a garden world. RIP. idressup - this game was fun and actually skipped my school's censorship wall so my friends and i would play during IT class. it was basically Stardoll but with better customisation (and also a sick MP3 player which played any song in your room - iconic). the ending to it's lifespan was wild, who knew a game where you dress up could get in a LOT of trouble with the law! Chit Chat City - a weird but fun game i spent hours wandering around in. it's gained some small attention lately as it appeared on my TikTok FYP in a nostalgia compilation. the girls that get it, get it! i might add more in the replies as i go down nostalgia lane, hopefully i maybe sparked some memories for fellow commenters?

@@pagedmaj iirc, the three rings ceo straight up said that it was an 'abject failure' from how little they got back from it, 5 million dollars was invested i honestly think it was too obscure to catch the ire of big companies, i always saw tons of nintendo avatars running around. biggest issue i imagine is that it was incredibly easy to rip avatars so you didn't have to pay bars. people were banned for it, but you could eventually get away with it scot-free as the players dwindled
