This is by far the best way to learn. Very similar to chess coaching. Theory (drills) is useful but without understanding the underlying concepts it is easy to get lost when a position varies slightly. This teaches concepts.

Hello Firas ive asked you multiple questions in numerous videos. never seemed to have caught up. no probleem. would like to ask you something. I broke my left shin bone same way Anderson broke his. also same kind of operation. I broke my shinbone grapling a heavier opponent 25-30kg heavier. He did an inside legsweep on my left leg but he combined it with a hip throw? wierd right? weight advantage I geuss. I broke my shin in 3 places. gonne pick up bjj again when healed. would love to know how to defend the can opener when a much stronger guy does it. The normal defense putting left arm over, right arm under transisition to armbars doesnt seem to work against that pulling power. Can you tell me something more simple but effective please? much respect for the vids and evverything. greets from Belgium

A quick question, from an MMA stand point wouldn't it be dangerous to pull closed guard in the transition of a takedown as your opponent may just choose to slam you to complete his takedown anyway?
@vmbrazilianjj7 жыл бұрын
slams dont really hurt when pulling guard, at least from my experience, just as long as u tuck in your chin, personally i dont jump closed guard or any guard as a matter of fact instead i jump into attacks it may be a sub a sweep or a transition but never just pull guard, if you are jumping de la riva (yes it can be done and i do it) make sure to not even stay in that position for more than a second, just attack

Awesome. Thanks for the quality answer! :)

Question: Will Khabib manage to take Ferguson down and impose his will early in the fight or will the fight be a standup matchup for longer than most of us expect? Also, if Ferguson does manage to stop Khabib's takedowns will we see an early ko/tko considering Khabib's standup game was not at it best in his last performance and was rocked by mj a couple of times, who, as we all know is not of the same caliber as Khabib's opponent this time..
@richardlancelot38297 жыл бұрын
MJ handily beat Ferguson when they fought though, and has gotten tagged way more than Khabib. There is really nothing indicating Khabib has worse stand/up than Tony.
@liamdillon70627 жыл бұрын
+Richard lancelot there is litterly nothing indicating khabibs stand up is even okay
