Fantastic details! I noticed in my training getting the angle before the lock can be difficult, you're basically getting the lock and then start working on your angle having their head in with your own leg at first.

@@workharderandsmarterbjjhey I train Williams guard everyday tryingto master it. I tend to get my lock when I'm flat on my back because getting the angle first can be very difficult on good grapplers, it seemed like the inside tie on the far bicep caused them to collapse flat on their face where I could get my angle easily, was this the case with you also? I've been starting out with their head on the inside of my lock with my leg and then switching once I make them collapse with the inside tie. I really appreciate your input

what if the top player doesn’t take the undertook but rather he tries to control the head?

What is the difference between Neil guard and William posture?
@workharderandsmarterbjj4 жыл бұрын
Williams Guard is variation of a closed guard position by Shawn Williams, where as the Neil Knot submission at the end is from Neil Melanson.

Dude with all due respect why not just save yourself the energy and pull his post arms out from inside to break his posture.
@workharderandsmarterbjj3 жыл бұрын
Fair enough! You're totally right - if that works than no need for the extra posture break work. But in my experience, I've seen way too many beasts that pulling out hands never works (I train at an bjj/mma gym and everyone is strong AF). But if it works for you then keep doing it💪💪💪 Thanks!
