Are this scoring rules the same for toddler tournaments as well (3 - 6 years old)?
@gbsainteanne
@gbsainteanne 2 жыл бұрын
Yes. The main difference would be on the list of submissions allowed. For example, they can’t do a guillotine, wrist locks or leg attacks, etc.
@falkhammermuller9342

1:25 .. incorrect, there are 4 ways. You can also lock up a submission and the match then rolls out of bounds and the referee stops the match. The player having the submission locked in, gets 2 points and the match resumes in a standing position. 2:20 .. also incorrect, there are 3 positions that reward 4 points. Mount, rear mount and back control. Yes, there are two positions from the back.

Ok here’s one. No stripe white belt here; in my fundamentals class we always end with situational sparring from whatever position we’ve been working on that day, submission or scored points end the roll and we reset. Working with blue belt today, we ended up in a weird position with her sat on my knees facing my feet. I was sat up and able to reverse the position easily if I used a bit of strength, which I try not to do rolling with women. She claimed this position earned her points, I disagreed and demonstrated my capacity to reverse it which really pissed her off. I conceded, she turned her back obviously not wanting to fist bump so I said ‘cool’, softly slapped her back as I do with everyone as a sign of friendship and moved on. She really didn’t want to shake my hand at the end of class so I’m hoping this won’t become an issue… My question is - who’s right?

i competed with points and it just seems silly to me. why doesn’t everyone do sub only like ebi
@gbsainteanne
@gbsainteanne 4 жыл бұрын
That's what I explained in the video. It's hard to encourage people to take risks if there is no immediate reward. When you attempt a technique, especially a sub, you need to take some risks along the way. But I agree that it's kinda cool to have different formats of events so people can choose ;)

Would a hip bump sweep landing you in mount be 2 points ? Or 6 ? Also would a butterfly sweep count for 2 if once I come up I wasn’t really past his gaurd but I did stand up he was on his back I was past his hips and grabbed his head and held control for 3 I just didn’t mount or get a side control
@gbsainteanne
@gbsainteanne 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, 1st question is 6 and 2 for the butterfly sweep.

Are advantages and penalties only there in the event of a tie?
@gbsainteanne
@gbsainteanne Жыл бұрын
nope, they can happen regardless of that. In short, advantages are given when the technique was executed but could not consolidate the execution for over 3 seconds or forces the opponent to defend it. Penalties are given mostly for stalling.

If I get 4 points for mount and then I move to the back do I get 4 points again

Point Tournaments are horrible, 95% of people will score half a point (advantage) or one or two points over ya, and then hold you to death just so they "win". Hilarious. Did two tournament, never again. I was the only one getting Submittions. First Tournament had 4 matches and 2 Submittions, second turnament had 7 matches, and 4 Submittions. Everyone else looked to score and hold other people down, like thay had a knife, lol 🤣. NoGi is better, noone could hold you down like that, like not even my mother held me like that and hugged me. If you are planning to do point scored turnament especially in Gi, be prepared for mofos to hold you down till they die.🤣 And then put a picture on their Facebooks posing like they have decapitated 14 people and got a medal for it, where in fact they had couple of 7min hold down matches 🤣😂🤣 You ll have their coaches even tell at them say, dont you Fu*king move from that possison. Lol

@@gbsainteanne score reversals as 4 points. So that guy on the bottom if he reverses the position and it's on top now, give him 4 points. That's o scored at all. Also people holding same position for more then 30 seconds get 1point taken away. They have to progress into different position for 3 seconds or lose the point that they just scored. That's if you want to keep the point system. But I think sub only is best.
@gbsainteanne

@@Nenad-ICXC-Shuput-GFAMMA man in that case I would prefer sub only too. Poor refs to keep up with so many reversal points and rules 😂😂
