Ok, so this is one of this videos that got me interested in BJJ and now, in 2022, Michelle is coming to my gym to do a seminar. I’m stoked.

This is the most intelligent BJJ site on the net. It has become my number one recommended site. I decided to take a look; it was the “Rodolfo Vieira's Guard Passing Study Part 2 - Weaves” video. I watched the Michelle Nicolini's Situp Sweep Variant video before class today. I was using the moves successfully because you are so good at breaking down the guard structure and showing how it flows. These videos are so good I feel like I owe you money. I’ll be buying a shirt tomorrow.

Wow! I have been playing a variant of this guard, where instead of going for the elevator, I roll in between opponent's legs to back take. But Michelle's method seems to work against knee slice very well! Thank you!

Once again you out did yourself, love it. I notice MG likes to use this shin to shin to enter his X guard. Keep up the great work! Your the man now!

As always you are amazing. This is my favorite video so far. I'm really hoping to use some of her stuff to help against people countering my DLR. I'll letcha know on Part II how it works out for me. Keep up the great work! BJJ Scout FTW

This just showed me my fighting style, I'm baffled I dunno what to say I watching this realize this is what I need to spend my rolling time on, this is what I was looking for, omg! 😲
@onetoonepointsix9 жыл бұрын
Although I would agree the "sfuh" (single foot underhook) is highly advantageous, it appears she's using more of what we call the "treehugger" position whereby she sits up and holds onto a single leg. This position is rrrrrrrreally f'n outstanding. We teach several techniques in our school from here. Excellent video and break down!

@sethandsharla11 жыл бұрын
Love it! I've already been using the Lo DLR/Spider combo that you went over with pretty good success. This is, to me, just a minor tweak of that guard that appears to reap great dividends! Definitely going to start using this as well!
@TheRevolutionMMA11 жыл бұрын
Robson Moura uses this technique a lot. He calls it an ankle elevator or just "using his hook". You can find quite a few techniques with it on his Single-Leg Guard DVD.

Hmm depends, an extensive study could be weeks. some like this - can be a few days. A lot of times I have a monster video (that takes a while), which I then chop up into parts. The hardest bit is "figuring out the system", after you watch the matches. My main point on Nicolini is her overall guard system, not this sweep (hope my next vid clears that up)

Man, you're doing such a great job. Thank you so much!
@BJJSCOUT11 жыл бұрын
No...I'll be doing more on her guard. But in general, you can try X pass over the shin side, most passes conceded by her is from that side. Just be careful it doesn't become a Lo Sweep or RDLR/Spider guard

yep - I think X+ OLX + DLR/Spider + shin/Spider make quite an irritating guard combination because you cover the full range of distance seemlessly
@ralphylad3 жыл бұрын
Lol at Michelle’s cheeky grin at 5:07 🤣
@Markenheimer10 жыл бұрын
On thing I find particularly cool about the Shin/Spider vs DLR/Spider is the long-term knee effects. Shin/Spider seems much more forgiving on the shin side knee, as opposed to the DLR knee in DLR/Spider. Research is coming out and showing that DLR is the cause of a lot of injuries in the long run.
@KyleBaker7 жыл бұрын
Can you give some more info on this research?

i frequently use the sit up sweep variations when i roll, but i prefer the sleeve feeding grip over the lapel feed. i learned the hard way not to feed the lapel grip against heavy knee sliders. during a competition i went for my sit up sweep, but couldnt get the sleeve grip so i fed the lapel grip. my opponent charged forward with a knee slide, pinning my hand between his leg and the lapel. i broke my hand and tore ligaments in my middle knuckle 30 seconds into my first match doing a sit up sweep variation. SO BE CAREFUL....i have found the sleeve grip to be safer and more effective
