In Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, whenever you find yourself on the bottom you better have a go to escape or things can start becoming very difficult fast.
In this video we learn how to not only avoid the Kimura hold but also where to put you warm so your opponent cannot capture you in this dangerous hold. Lastly we will see how to use our under hook to get to our side without being counter by the whizzer, darce, guillotine and other common attacks from this position.
Hope you enjoy please be sure to like.
thank you

Awesome detail on driving the tricep forward to deflect your opponents weight. I competed for the first time in a few years this last weekend, pulled deep half guard (usually a strong position for me) and lost on points. I've been obsessed with tuning up the half guard details. Much appreciated, subscribed!

Used this yesterday, I used the under hook to prevent the kimura from bottom half and regain guard. Also loved the strip with the knee and when I was in top half used it to prevent the grip and then pass

Hey Firas great video and technique. I have not rolled in some time so this is probably a dumb question but with the arm of the defender straight like that and not tucked round the back, is there a chance the guy on top can switch to an americana or head and arm type grip and use that to establish a stronger position? Cheers!

Thanks for the video Firas. Regarding the underhook from half guard: does upward pressure on the tricep also help you get you on your side when the guy on top is heavy and you're flattened out? In the video, it appears that you're flat on your back during some points during this transition and your head is on the "wrong" side (5:42), but the tricep pressure and hip escape let you pop right out.
@CoachZahabi
@CoachZahabi 8 жыл бұрын
+Christopher Jang yes the underhook pressure towards the tricep is key to help you shrimp out. Give it a try and you will see the major difference it makes.

+DPhotis It's all about posture man. You want to keep your head up and your back straight. Make sure your shooting in with your legs and not bending your back. To make it a habit just look the ceiling when you shoot.

+Malik Anbar wait why keep head up?
@tgF321jikko
@tgF321jikko 7 жыл бұрын
MasterPrestige#fifa The key to finishing the guillotine is making the victim's head bend down so that their neck presses into your forearm. The best way to stop it is by keeping you neck straight and stopping them from pushing your head down. Firas or someone could explain it better, for I am just a blue belt.

what about garbing the waist with an under hook in half guard when you post your other elbow as a base or using the electric chair
@CoachZahabi

+ofir libel this is ok in my opinion only once you are out from under your opponent. I don't like to go to my elbow until I am out form underneath and sitting up.
