This was 12 days ago, you should be getting your first stripe on your black belt by now. Have you considered opening your own school?
@b4dmaash25 күн бұрын
@warrenmorgan304 I might have the opportunity to open it up, but someone else will have to run it

Happy being able to train. Period. At 65 I no longer do tests for anything, nor do I engage in promotion rituals.. I am attending school four in three years and skipped their promotion class last spring as it was on a long weekend and family comes first. I will go to the next one simply if available to congratulate those there, I do not expect to be promoted . My journey is obviously very different than someone a third my age

5 months (six days a week plus privates for a total of 15 hours a week) = 300 hours. To 4 years ("Lack of discipline and willpower" - probably didn't average more than an hour or two a week?). ~300 hours. Funny how that works.

6 days a week is probably not 15 hours.

When you are older you have to be more careful with your body and you have far less time than a younger person....consistently going more than 2 times a week isn't realistic when you have a serious job, wife + kids and don't want to risk injury / getting worn out.
@dybajiujitsu Жыл бұрын
Definitely have to be more careful for sure. I’ve heard different definitions of what people think “older” refers to. I get it if someone’s 86 and only goes once a week. That makes sense for that age range. Everyone’s journey will look different and it’s not idealistic to have those same goals at 86 that you do at 36. I’d also ask for clarification on what constitutes a “serious” job versus a “non-serious one”. My guess is a 40 hour/week job versus a job requiring more than that and sometimes close to double? Then yeah 2x a week wouldn’t be realistic either. Again, these are just rough numbers. These don’t take into account outliers specifically. Both of which I’ve stated above.

I have a serious job, wife and kids and still manage my time right to get in for 3+ sessions a week.

I started to train on the 4th week of Dec 2022 and I am 66 yrs old; now I am 67 yrs old; how far will it take for me to have blue belt

If you only did private, it seems like you would avoid some injuries.

How about if the practitioner started at the age of 66 yrs old how far is he from white belt to blue belt?
@dybajiujitsu Жыл бұрын
I imagine that case would be an outlier and would have a bunch of factors to take into account to give a realistic answer.

In general like what do black belts typically charge?

@@dybajiujitsu I train at renzo gracie milford but never thought of a private lesson I would assume it would be with the head trainer so yes black belt

If you think it would be useful for your channel yes. If it's only for me I don't want to take up your time. Thanks for the response. I like the details you gave in the video. I learned it's the smallest details that make you get better.

@@DaveJos I think it’s a good topic for anyone who’s into jiu jitsu. There’s such a broad range too so I can go into the details of it all too. 👍🏼 I appreciate the question!
